Best Animal Hospital in Georgia. Dr. Katie Ferris and her team are knowledgeable, professional and caring. I've been taking my 2 dogs there for 7 years. The Very Best! 8/15/2014

My family has had pets all of our life and we have carried them to many different Vets. By far, Chestatee is the best ever. The staff is outstanding and unbelievably caring.\r \r Our Pug, Harley recently got hit by the mailman's truck and broke his left back femur. From the time I arrived, I knew I had brought Harley to the right place. The break was severe enough that a pin had to be placed along the break. Dr. Hall was called in and personally handled the operation. This guy is good, probably in the top 10 in the Country!\r \r The followup, checking on Harley was fantastic! If there was a 10 star rating, they would get it.\r \r All of our pets are members of the family, so if you want the absolutely best care for your "family members", bring them to Chestatee Animal Hospital! You will not be disappointed! more

Terrible People!! 6/24/2011

My dog broke his leg and I took him to Chestatee to get the cast put on. When I brought him home, He had terrible wounds on his foot so I rushed him back. They told me they "didn't see the wounds" thats why they didn't tell me about them. It worried me so I tried to talk to the doctor but he wouldn't get on the phone with me until I started talking about a lawyer. When I saw the xrays, I knew something was wrong so I asked to be referred to another vet. The bone pieces were not even touching. The Chestatee doctor told me that he should be fine. Once I got to a different vet, he removed the cast and my poor puppy had bandage wounds all up his leg that Chestatee "didn't see" or tell me about. Thanks to the new vet, my dog can walk. Thank god I knew something wasn't right. more

Fantastic Vet! 9/18/2008

I drive two hours to take my pets here, because Dr. Orton is the best vet I have ever had. He remember all my dogs, and is very knowledgeable about all types of animals. Many times he has very quickly resolved an issue that had other vets closer to my home confused, so the health of my pets is worth it for me to drive all the way to Dahlonega. He never does unnecessary tests, he always keeps in mind the quality of life of the animal, and I absolutely trust him in every situation. The office staff is wonderful, and amazingly helpful. I never feel rushed or that my dogs are not getting the best of care. more
