Best

Thank you for taking such care of Rusty and keeping him with us, he gives our family so much joy.

I will keep writing about this place to warn others. You should think carefully before coming here. The vet who caused us much grief is now working at an emergency clinic up north...

They are great! 8/22/2011

Thank you guys! 8/9/2011

Unfortunately, I don't know the names of all the staff members who helped me out, but they were very professional and courteous in helping my pet in stressful emergency situation. I was very impressed with the entire operation and was very pleased with the care and compassion shown to my pet. more

In Good Hands 8/3/2011

The tech's were really great about giving personalized updates to me on how my baby was doing in the hospital. They were all very personable as well as informative. I felt as if the cost was reasonable especially considering that my baby was in the hospital for three whole days. The vets and techs were all so great! They all came in while I was visiting to share all their stories about my baby wile they were with him. I thought that was really nice and I knew he was in good hands. Seriously, you all are truly the best! more

Their Care Stands Out 8/3/2011

Dr. Jackson spent a long time talking about options with me and answering all my questions about my pets surgery. They explained everything very complete and thoroughly. Dr. Carbon called daily to my multiple numbers to reach me as well as leaving voice mails to make sure everything was okay after. She called until she talked to a "live" person. They also told me that I could come in after hours whenever I had a problem and I wouldn't make visitor hours. Everyone I talked to was very compassionate. I liked the way they had the discharge instructions in front of me as they went over them line for line. They made sure I understood so that I was comfortable. The demonstrated the shot as well and let me try it with no stress added. I also liked the way they did the timing of payment so that I wasn't holding my dog and trying to pay at the same time. They had a great set routine. The vet told me they my pet extra hugs when I couldn't visit and told me how much they loved her. The one thing more

Imformative and Compassionate 8/3/2011

Animal Specialty Group is the only place I bring my pets! These are the same vets that did the original surgery for my one of my dogs in 2008 and I was very confident and comfortable on the day of surgery. They explained everything thoroughly about the lack of blood flow and the best long term treatment being removal of the infected plate. My dog had an infection from prior surgery due to her opening the stitches and exposing the plate. The staff was great. Frita, who taught me how to give my dog the IV of antibiotics, let me use my own dog as a guinea pig. They walked me through it step by step and letting me do the work knowing my dog has absolute trust in me. I was given line by line discharge instructions and felt confident in taking her home. She was able to come home with me the same day and that made me feel great because this came a few weeks after the death of my father. The staff was very compassionate at this difficult time for me and I can't thank them enough for helping m more

Mrs. 1/2/2011

If you need emergency services, this place will do. Be prepared to pay top dollar. If you're seeking the advice of an oncologist, well, let's just say that (I felt) we were given a hard-sell. The doc we saw had poor bedside manners with a smattering of condescension thrown in for good measure. The treatment route suggested by the oncologist was (pardon the pun), overkill. The fact that it would have put a heavy burden on our finances AND maim our dog seemed of little consequence to her. (Yes, sometimes desperate measures are called but certainly not in every case.) We sought the opinion of a second oncologist -- who suggested a less aggressive approach -- we went with his advice and all came out well! Don't let fear tactics scare you into something you may not need do. Take a deep breath and, if needed, get a second opinion. more

CAUTION!!!! 10/7/2010

CAUTION!!!! If you love your pet do not take him/her to ASG.\r NO compassion, NO specialty care, only a focus on your Money. My cat “Monkey” suffered in their care for 24 hours and when I arrived to visit him the next day he was almost dead! Nobody noticed he was unconscious, having difficulty breathing, and defecating on him-self. Only then did they start treatment just to satisfy me. He died less than twelve hours later. There are too many doctors and techs working here to get personalized care for your pet. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID. I deeply regret taking him here, my cat deserved better care than he received at ASG. \r more

Not to be trusted 9/29/2010

If I could give a zero I would. Called today looking to get an estimate for my poor dog who is in need of bilateral TPLO surgery. The rude surgical receptionist told me there was no way to give me an estimate over the phone and told me the consultation is $150. I kindly explained to her that I am not looking for a surgical consultation because my dog has had all the pre-diagnostic work done (I know what he needs), I am just looking for a ball park figure for just the TPLO surgery cost. Maybe go into someone's file and look to see what someone paid for a dog that is a comparable size if you know nothing about the work you do?? All she did was rudely repeat how the doctor does not do consultations over the phone and it is $150. Talk about money hungry. And if you were a bit nicer maybe I would have driven the 6 hours to LA to know that my dog is in good care, but it's quite obvious that you couldn't care less about the poor state of my animal. Stay away from Vet's like these because they are clearly only after your dollar. I should also remark that I have been calling vets for a few days now and have gotten quite a few ball park estimates from quite a few lovely surgical receptionists. At least I didn't waste my time here! more

Kind and compassionate 5/23/2010

We took our dog Boss to this vet when he was having trouble walking. They said he had to have surgery and the bill was pretty high. The DR let us work out a payment plan we could all live with. Thank you for letting us keep our dog! more
