Have you tried Uwajimaya 11/30/2006

Uwajimaya is an Asian specialty market that carries all sorts of imported good and groceries. If they don't have exactly what you're looking for, you'll at least find something of interest there. I always do! Their biggest store is in Seattle, but there is also a store in Bellevue on NE 24th and I56th Ave NE. You can also check out their website http://www.uwajimaya.com. Good luck! more

Best Local Asian Grocery Shopping Around 3/18/2006

Uwajimaya has a bigger sister store downtown in the International District, but on the Eastside, this is the best Asian grocery store around. They have all the Asian vegetables that you would need and basic Asian staples. I guess what they're lacking is the meat and seafood section and a good bakery department. Still, it beats going all the way downtown for Asian groceries. more

A great asian marketplace! 12/31/2005

Uwajimaya is a wonderfully cultural store. It has a very inviting atmosphere and carries many products that otherwise would be difficult to find. They have everything from groceries to deli items to gifts and souvineers. I did a Chinese themed birthday party for my daughter and was able to find some wonderful items at this store. more

A great convenient place to get Asian ingredients 9/15/2005

Dwarfed by the larger Uwajimaya store in Seattle’s I-District, this location provides a very convenient alternative to those east-siders looking for common Asian ingredient that are impossible to find in the likes of big-chain supermarkets. I like shopping here because the products, selection, and price are still fair given it’s location in Bellevue. more

It is a lot of fun to visit Uwajimaya. They have everything Asian that you can think of. Prices are variable depending on what you are looking for. You can find some great values. It is sometimes frustrating because sometimes I don't know what I am looking at since I can't read many of the labels. It is usually worth the experiment though. Sometimes you can get a helpful employee to guide you along, if you want something specific. I like to come just for the variety and the change of pace. This location could use a major remodel. Parking is always ample. more

Authentic Asian everything! 7/7/2005

Uwajimaya is great, though sometimes expensive, store will all things Asian. Craving some Zippy's chili? They've got it. Jonesing for some musubi? They've got it. I love just walking the aisles! They also have a foodcourt at the Seattle location with everytime of Asian cuisine, including ono Hawaiian food, and there are vegetarian options as well. The items can be pricey but sometimes you will pay any price for a slice of home! more

Everthing from (instant miso) soup to nuts 6/30/2005

Uwajimaya carries products you won't see elsewhere. They sell a package of 20 packets of instant miso soup that you can keep in the refrigerator and use any time. Just add the contents to a cup of hot water. Only here will you find butter coconut cookies, frozen yakisoba noodles, or a real variety of mochi. Check-out is super-fast. more
