This is our 2nd year at UDA. I am so glad we chose this studio. My daughter is now 5, I'm grateful we found a studio that teaches importance of rules, great technique and also supports a fun environment for kids. The recital experience is unlike any other studio. It's something my daughter looks forward to each year. It's worth the extra effort it takes to prepare..even for smaller children. If you are looking for a studio that has high standards in training and a positive experience for kids this is a great studio! more

Once upon a time, in Brooke Maxwell's basement, a dance studio was established. With sweet, humble beginnings, I could see, and most important to me as a parent, I could feel Brooke's artistic vision of a dance studio that would teach more than just dance steps, but nurture young dancers. When my daughter, Ashlyn, was three years old, she had an incredible passion for creativity through dance. What began as a journey to learn ballet and jazz, soon channeled into a beautiful experience of dance steps and inspirational life lessons.\r Brooke has a motto in her studio that says, “I don't try to dance better than anyone else, I only try to dance better than myself."" This is only a small example of the variety of ways Brooke inspires the young dancers to work hard, gain self respect/confidence, accomplish goals and have fun. What began as a 45 minute dance class for our three-year old daughter has blossomed into many genres of dance for a sweet fourteen-year old girl, and she loves every minute of it. She's also a straight ""A"" student, and we know that part of the fantastic results of a 4.0 grade point average is due to her dance classes and the motivation, discipline and enthusiasm for life that is instilled in her while she is at dance.\r Utah Dance Artists has not only strengthened and toned my daughter's muscles, but also her heart and mind. Ashlyn's commitment to hard work and dedication is a quality any parent would be proud of. She loves to be involved in helping the dance studio raise money for a scholarship fund that benefits youth who cannot attend classes at UDA because of personal reasons, whether the death of a loved one, family financial challenges, sickness, or other life-altering problems. Ashlyn also loved participating in the studio's Festival of Trees project. She helped raise money to decorate a tree in remembrance of a fellow UDA dancer whose life was tragically taken prematurely. The dancers are learning to give service to their peers and to others in need. They are giving back to the community while developing their minds, strengthening their talents, and learning valuable life lessons. These qualities, instilled by Brooke and her outstanding staff, are enriching Utah's future leaders.\r \r Johnette M.\r \r more

I love Utah dance artists because of the professional and classic way it does things. There were a few hip hop dances that I thought were polished but trashy in the dance moves. That was disappointing because one of my favorite things about UDA is how high class it is with little girls being beautiful and not sexual. I absolutely thoug that this years recital was the best one so far. Thanks for being the best studio around! more

UDA has been a fabulous dance studio for my daughters. Not only are they receiving quality technical training, but the teachers are instilling values in them that will last far beyond their dancing years. Their experiences are not only invaluable, but fun and memorable. Simply put, UDA is one of the best dance studios in Utah and I would recommend it to anyone! more

I have 3 daughters dancing at UDA and have been with them for 8 years and we couldn't be happier. My girls love this studio because of the girls they dance with, their teachers, the sparkly costumes and the fun music. I love this studio because the office staff is organized and wonderful to work with. I always know what is going on and, although the annual recital is a big commitment, the handbook gives me every detail I need to know about the weekend. It makes the whole weekend more fun and easier than you would think. If ever I have a question that I can't find on the website or handbook, a quick e-mail gets me an answer quickly. The recital is amazing and very professional. I get chills every year when the opening music starts. I love being able to sit and watch what my girls have worked so hard to accomplish. more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE-- TOO EXPENSIVE-- MILITANT 6/6/2011

I pulled my 4yo daughter out of the toddler dance combo class for several reasons. The place is run in a militant style that emphasizes rules over having fun. There are fees for everything and the toddler ""uniform"" is ridiculous and expensive. They want credit cards on file to bill you at random. My credit card was stolen and thus deactivated and because I'm not super-human I did not remember to give the studio another card and was sent nasty emails with several fees. We went on vacation and then was sent a nasty email stating that my 4yo daughter missing her class was disrupting the entire class in preparation for a recital that was 2 months away. My daughter caught strep throat and we missed the 2 days to pick up her expensive dance recital uniform because frankly I did not care and thus was charged another fee for missing the 2 day pick-up window. I attempted to discuss the issue with staff but was told to read my student handbook which would in turn explain to me I owed all the fees and should follow the rules better. The only thing my daughter ever praised about her dance class was getting a hand stamp or piece of candy at the end of class. I stronly advise parents to look elsewhere if they want a place that is fun and not too serious. I am certainly a frustrated mom and would NEVER recommend this studio. more
