a place to sit outside and grab some coffee 8/15/2005

the food here is nothing special, what they're known for is their huge selection of loose-leaf teas and organic coffees. the teas come in a glass container so that you can seep them for as long as you want. it's always crowded, so if you don't mind waiting around for a seat or sitting a couple of inches away from people then this is the place for you. but there aren't that many places to sit and have some good dessert and tea outside. more

Nice Place for Casual Dining....... 5/14/2005

It's about time I wrote a review for Urth Caffe.......considering I patronize the place at least 5 times/week. The selection of entrees for breakfast is adequate......ranging from granola to omlettes. The mushroom omlette was yummy and it came with a side salad and a piece of panini. My favorite entree, by far, is the Urth Salad........mixed greens topped with cheese, garbonzo beans, pine nuts, tomatoes. I always get chicken added for an extra $3. The chicken, i must add, is cooked perfectly.....tender and flavorful. The coffee and tea selection is outstanding! And yes, their drip coffee is nice and strong! Desserts are a must as well! Service is slow, can get a little pricey and the place is busy, but it's definitely worth a visit! Pros: Quality, Strong Coffee, Urth Salad Cons: Slow Service, Parking more

Decent Food; Poor Management 11/20/2004

My first experience at Urth: food was pretty good and I was very excited about the vegan desserts. When I got home and opened the vegan desert bread it was very molded. The management didn't offer any replacement. Our second time to Urth we repeated 4 times to the cashier to ensure that our order (please put chicken, etc. on the side) was correct. Not only was our order completely not followed; our friends panini wasn't at all the one we ordered. We notified management after a lenghty wait to get our corrected salad and she didn't even offer to fix our friends incorrect order! Terrible. Cons: , Poor Management more
