I love Dr Hartman, my family and I have been bringing our pets to him for as long as I can remember. Definitely recommend more

Excellent service 5/19/2011

Dr Hartman and his staff have been very good to my pets and I over the years. After having problems trusting other vet I came across Union Street and they took in my pet Rattie and he was diagnosed and treated and finished out his remaining years. I have to drive a distance to for the appointment but I feel my furry friends are in very capable hands. One kitty had a medical problem that Dr Hartman diagnosed and when we asked about a second opinion for possible treatment he recommended Cornell Unversity... after an very expensive check up and test they told me the same thing as Dr Hartman told me. We found a stray that seemed to become paralyzed, Dr Hartman told me it was a disorder that was outside of his area and again referred me, the fine folks at the referral end told me the same thing over the phone and that surgery was a possibility but that it was a very slim chance he'd make a full recovery if anything. We made him comfortable to his end. So to say Union Street Veterinary Hospital is only good if you know what is already wrong is a total disrespect. I would still Highly recommend Union Street to anyone in need of an Excellent Veterinary Hospital. I have been going there for years! So long that the birds call out my name as I walk in! Animals mean the world to me and I wouldn't allow someone to treat them if I didn't trust them. more

Not super pleased. 3/29/2011

I went to the vet confident that my cat had a general urinary tract infection, she was showing the general symptoms. The staff was helpful and friendly. I got in that day as an emergency visit and was in and out within a half hour, maybe 45 minutes at most. I was really excited that I had found a decent vet who wasn't outrageously overpriced. \r Over a four day span, her symptoms didn't improve and I was recommended to another veterinarian by a friend of mine. I spent over double the amount I payed at Union Street Veterinary Hospital, and that was fine by me. At this hospital I got tests, x-rays, PLUS the super nice staff (even nicer than USV) all for nearly $200 and learned that my cat had a very large bladder stone, not a UTI.\r It then dawned on me, I had wasted nearly $100 (that I could have definitely applied to her current treatment) for her to feel her stomach and prescribe her Clavamox. No tests, no x-rays, nothing. \r I was pleased by their customer service, but nothing more, seeing as they didn't really DO anything for my pet with something as harmful as a bladder stone. \r If you know specifically what is wrong with your pet, I'd recommend them, which is why I gave them one star. If you have any doubts however, I wouldn't recommend going here. more
