I got there around 8:30 PM & was informed by my waiter that they were closing in a few minutes when the sign said 10 PM. He gave us our menus & told us that we needed to hurry. I thought that was very rude. As for the food, it was average. I felt that I could've gotten better tasting Mexican food out of my grocers freezer. Definitely won't be going back. more

We ate at Uncle Julio’s for the first time. The four of us were disappointed with the service, the food and the bill. The drinks up until 7:00 were advertised at 1/2 price. We started drinking at 5:00. The waiter was pushing the specials to the point of being annoying. We drank, had appetizers and entries. The food was nothing more than mediocre. The chicken was overcooked, the steak undercooked and portions nothing to get excited about. When the bill came the drinks, which were ordered before 7:00pm were charged at full price, not the 1/2 price as advertised. The waiter looked like a deer in the headlights of my car. He knew we caught him in trying to rip us off. We asked to speak to a manager, who was a young girl and did not know how to deal with people. They bill was adjusted slightly, but not to what we calculated the correct amount. Not wanting to make a scene, we paid the bill, left a tip and left. ..... But we will not return and I suggest you do not go there, unless you like bad service, bad food and getting ripped off. more

My boyfriend and I heard lots of great things about this restaurant. We finally went with a friend tonight and had dinner- not a cheap dinner- and the food was so very disappointing. Meat was chewy and dry, fish was flavorless, ribs were only so-so... Our server was very good but good service and bad food do not a successful meal make. We were kicking ourselves when we left for going to Uncle Julios instead of our regular hole-in-the-wall Mexican spot, (Taco Prince, if you're interested, right down the street), where for almost 100 dollars less we could have had some of the best authentic Mexican cuisine in town. From now on we won't stray! I give Uncle Julios a 4/10, and those points are for our nice server only. more

Went for Father's Day, place was kind of quiet so wait staff were attentive. Lots of smiles and manager even came by and asked how the food was. I ordered fish tacos wife got chicken quesadilla. Both were big plates and tasty. I switched the black beans to the pinto beans, which I really like. The food is over priced, but I knew that going in. Wife raved about her Skinny Margarita, perfect size for an afternoon. I still prefer Casa Maya Grill in Deerfield or even Senior Burrito down the street, but where in a hurry and needed to stay close to Glades rd. I really want this place to work, location is great. more

Service sucks. Personnel doesn't know their menu . Huge disappointment. Don't go its a disaster looking for service with a smile. Will see how the food tasted. Never waited for the food, had to get up and get a straw, had to get up and get extra napkins, after eating the sals and chips while waiting over 45 minutes, had to get water to cut the heat. Forget fine dining, it doesn't exist in this restaurant, just the prices are for fine dining. Taco Bell will treat you better than this. Can you believe their hostesses are not ALLOWED to talk to the bar personnel to get a drink altered for a customer when her waiter is nowhere to be found. more

Food was good but we were upcharged for the second round of drinks both for wine as well as margeritas.\r \r That is inexcusable and I will not return. more

The food was greasy and had little flavor. It's overpriced and the décor is a bit over the top... a ton of wasted space here more

Great food + atmosphere! I highly recommend the carne asada: delicious skirt steak cooked how you like it... It cuts like butter and is never a disappointment!! Great restaurant overall! more

Growing up in Dallas Uncle Julio's was a place we frequented. The dining experience at this location in Florida certainly left something to be desired....like the spice of true Tex Mex. The tortilla soup was nothing more than tasteless vegetable soup with a few chucks of chicken and 4 or 5 tortilla strips. The Carne Asada tasted like teriyaki beef instead of the usual Mexican spices.\r \r I'd send the chefs from this location back to Dallas for training.\r \r Rather disappointing.\r G more

My gf and I were in here recently and the food was excellent. The staff was very friendly and took great care of us. Our hostess was named Erin and very pleasant and our waitress was named Mia and she was always thorough at our table and was always following up at our table to make sure we were doing well. She also told us specials and she recommended a great dish for us. She was very good waitress and I dont get great service often . We had a great time and will be back shortly. We remebered the names because we said we will write a review.Thank you..Ian more

Was very crowded in the restaurant...figuring it had to be good we went inside. The noise seemed to be amplified and was hard to talk to one another inside. The menu did not have a great variety and the actual food itself was only adequate. Check out Las Fajitas down the street for good mexican food. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 7/19/2009

The menu kinda sucks. It's difficult to read as pretty much everything is the same thing. Prices are high for the amount of food you get, but it was tasty. The service was super slow! We won't be coming back. more

This was my second trip (08/07/09) and I tried what my wife liked. I had '2 Juanita's Platter' with Beef enchiladas, Beef soft taco and chicken tomale with green sauce. This was a great meal this time. So I have changed my opinion of this place.\r \r Original Review\r 50-50 will give it one more try - This is not your usual tex-mex fare, it is very expensive. I thought the Menu choices were limited (No Burrito anywhere on the menu). I ordered the 'Beef Fajitas al Carbon' and the steak was tough. My wife ordered the '2 Juanita's Platter' and was very pleased with it. The service was great. more

Excellent wait staff. Delicious flavors. Not overly vegetarian friendly. Non-traditional Mexican, but would highly recommend. We had the chicken fajitas and cheese and onion enchiladas. Excellent! more

Great authentic Tex-Mex, good drinks, lively atmosphere, great outside seating area. I went for the mesquite grilled specialty, I.e,.. Quail and shimp that was butterflyed and cooked perfect. I'm definately going back. Only take reservations up to 6p after that it's first come first serve! more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 3/31/2009

Exceptional service, presentation and food quality. Meals served piping hot and in a very timely manner. Very Good salsa, seafood, chicken and steak. Very pleasant SouthWestern décor, though the steer heads mounted on the walls are a bit too earthy. more
