Heading out east on Northern Boulevard there are so many steak houses you need a scorecard...Uncle Jacks (technically on Bell Blvd), Peter Lugar's, Morton's, Burton and Doyle, Bryant and Cooper, Sagamore, etc., etc....but you needn't drive too far east, the first stop is the BEST. Uncle Jack's is a small, cozy spot, but the fare is fabulous (just ask Mayor Bloomberg, who dines here at least twice a month---you can always tell when by the big, black SUVs parked on the sidewalk)...EVERYTHING is first rate, from the marvelous martinis, the well prepared salads and appetizers (great goat cheese, stupedous shrimp), to the perfect steaks. The rib eye is astounding, the porterhouse is perfect. Also, they do a great tuna steak...sushi quality. Friendly and educated waitstaff will treat you like an old friend. Who needs Lugars when I've got an UNCLE in the business?
Pros: fabulous food and excellent service
Cons: tough aprking--sometimes they have valet
