I just had my 2000 F250 Diesel "Check Engine light" diagnosed. They charged $89.50 for this service and it took almost 15 minutes to plug it in and print the 1 code. I don't have much of a problem with this, especially if I decide to work on the truck myself. What I do have a problem with is, after doing the work, they don't discount this service from the overall bill. What also troubles me, is that this trucks diagnosis for engine related troubles can only be read by a dealership. I tried 3 seperate code readers (including a $1500 Matco reader) with "No Codes" as the response.\r

Also, the repair took less than 5 hours. I was charged for 8 hours ($600 + in labor), since that is what is in the book. VERY frustrating. I think I will find someone with the proper code reader and avoid dealerships from here on out.
