Hometown Feel! 7/13/2006

What a great place to spend some time with friends- or -some one on one with your significant other. It's fun to try all the different varieties of wine offered here. We often come for a glass of wine and end up staying for dinner. The menu has plenty to offer at reasonable prices. If you have questions- or need to take a bottle of wine as a gift, the staff is always helpful with suggestions! I love to try and find that really great bottle for under $15. Bob and his son have truly created a warm and friendly place. more

Man I love this place! Great wine by the glass list organized so that anyone can maximise the wine experience. Easy to read, understand and order exactly what you want. It's really a neighborhood kind of place with nice people, good food (surprisingly filling) and great prices. The have a wine tasting every Wednesday night that's really pretty interesting, relaxed and fun - without sales people in your face. They also have a Gorilla tasting once a month offering 25+ wines for only $5 bucks. Pros: Wine list, food, people Cons: A little hard to find - mapquest it first. more

This is how a wine bar/restaurant should be delivered to the public. Small yet we have always sat down immediately. Great food, especially for the price and variety. Wine and suggestions of mixed drinks by bartenders have all been positive experiences. A dim-lit fun yet romantic place for a dinner any day of the week! I highly recommend the $15 wine tastings on Wednesday nights as well. You can't get any better than the Wine Shoppe Bistro. A good example of how things should be done! 2/12/2006

My wife and I decided to give this place a try after we missed a wine tasting event elsewhere. They have a great variety of ""by the glass"" wines to choose from. The staff was excellent and the atmosphere was very nice (live music when we were there). Anyone who enjoys wine will enjoy The Wine Shoppe. We will be back soon! This place is tucked away. After all the great reviews, I was surprised to see it empty on a Saturday night. Great food, even vegetarian options. Fairly reasonable prices. Great atmosphere. We started coming for the wine tastings and classes that are offered, but then got hooked by the food. Seems like there's always something new to try. Columbus' best kept secret? 6/14/2005

After moving to Columbus I thought I my days of fine wine and a gourmet pizza were over, until I found the Wine Shoppe Bistro. I really feel like I did have to find it though because it is tucked away in a quiet part of Dublin amongst some other shops in a classy old Irish architecture shopping area. I'm not sure if I'm a bigger fan of their wine selection or the pizza, because both are tops. I tried The Wine Shoppe Bistro after one of my patients recommended it to me and I've been a regular ever since! Though I'm really into their wine tastings Wednesday evenings, I often come over with a couple of friends from my office for lunch. Even though I can't have any wine at lunch, (you really don't want me giving you a root canal after I've had some wine do you?) coming for just the food is well worthwhile! This is about the only place my boyfriend and I can agree on when we go out! He enjoys the micro brew beers they have on tap, and I'm always able to find some new wines to try! Good place to help stock your cellar. 6/13/2005

I keep a small cellar and often rely on ""The Wine Guy"" to find me an obscure label or vintage that I hear about and just ""have"" to have. I sometimes go into the Bistro for a light meal and am always pleased - not only is the food top notch but the whole staff does so much to take care of the customers so well! Though my wife says the wine list is spectacular, I usually try one of unique beers on tap or have a scotch. The food alone is worth coming in for, and it's so relaxing when they have Pete at the piano. One thing that's unique is that they have a retail wine store attached to the Bistro. I'm not really a wine drinker, so when I need a bottle for my wife or as a gift I'm always able to rely on their experts to help me select one that's a hit! This has become our favorite spot when we want to leave the kids at home and get out for a quick and elegant meal by ourselves. A couple of glasses of wine to accompany something off the elegant food menu is the perfect way to end the day! After stopping in a few times for dinner we learned about the Monday wine classes and Wednesday wine tastings. I'm always amazed at the selection of wines available by the glass! Somehow ""Bob the Wine Guy"" always seems to have something new and exciting to expand our adventures in tasting! Not many places you can go to get a great pizza and a great wine selection! They have about 50 wines available by the glass, and a knoweledgable staff to help you with your selections. We often get one of their flights of wine with our dinner, then pick a favorite and take a bottle of it home from their retail store. Though they have a number of gourmet pizzas, I often have the pepperoni and I'll put it up against anyone's! For the non pizza lover, there's a variety of sandwiches, salads and finger foods. The atmosphere is upscale adult contemporary. We live nearby and sometimes get pizza and their special ""Bistro salad"" with maple dressing for carryout. Pros: wine, food, adult atmosphere more

Great gathering place for friends! 5/28/2005

A friend set up our office's ""Ladies Night Out"" here and I've been hooked since. Listening to Pete play the piano (Thurs & Fri) set the perfect background for a fun evening. Since then I've brought other groups of friends here and we've always had a great time. The menu has enough variety to satisfy most tastes and appetities, plus they've got alot of wines available by the glass. One tip - If you bring in a group, you can pick a bottle from the thousands in their store and only pay a few dollars ""corking fee"" to drink it there. The Best Little Bar In Town 5/28/2005

Hidden away on Muirfield Drive in Dublin is the prettiest little wine bar. The food is really, really good and they make great martinis. I had the crab parmesan, shrimp bisque and the creme brulee duet. But the best part is the wine list. It's the biggest I've ever seen. And the prices are reasonable.
