Dissapointing 1/5/2003

I've eaten at Tuscany many times, but the last time, which will be the last time for now was on December 24th. Poor service, lax attitudes and a waitperson with a voice that puts a dumb blonde in genius category. Gads what a letdown. The food has deteriorated along with the service. Not what I would spend over a $100.00 on three for. Tasteless, boring and service that makes you wonder, on several occasions, if they forgot about you. They did. Better buck up Tuscany, there's a lot of better places to eat now. Pros: valet parking Cons: service, food, cost more

Another chance 1/4/2003

I have been here several times. The food is always fabulous, and in the summer, outside dining is unforgettable. But the last three times, the service has been very poor, and I'm not even picky. I am easy to please but it was markedly bad. I will go again because the food and ambiance are wonderful, and I have memories of good service, I'm hoping to rekinkle them next time. OVERRATED 12/29/2002

The experience was terrible. We were with a group of 6 couples and my wife had to wait 15 minutes for her food after everyone else received theirs. The fish dish was so full of bones it was inedible. The soup they brought to replace the boney fish was nasty, cold, and very expensive for the 6 spoonfuls it contained. Our bill was outrageous and the staff refused to seperate for each couple. Upon it taking us more time than they would have liked, they ""tossed"" us a calculator to insult and speed us up. We have eaten everywhere in Utah from La Caille, Snake Creek Grill, Dees, & Taco Bell and have never seen a place so ridiculous. We will NEVER eat here again. Tuscany was really great when they first opened. They seem to have grown complacent with their success, the menu is mediocre and the prices are really high. Not worth the effort. Pros: good ambience Cons: overrated, high $ more

Veal Anyone? 12/6/2002

While I wouldn't call it ""Italian"" cuisine, the creative improvisations on traditional plates were quite welcome. I enjoyed the intimate atmosphere and attentive waiters. Those who have rated this restaurant poorly really show a lack of fine dining experience and have done an injustice to the establishment. The service at this restaurant is extremely snobby. My wife and I were given a gift certificate to this establishment from a good friend who strongly recommended it's atmosphere. The building and grounds were stunning. To our surprise, the required vallet parking service was extremely contrary (rude young men), the table waitress was nonexistant and the food was no better than average at a premium price. We enjoyed the food very much. But romantic? The large group next to us was obnoxious and loud - very distracting. Another time, the noise level and crowdedness of the restaurant spoiled any romantic mood. more

Itailian Charm 8/28/2002

Excellent service, extensive wine list, the New York steak and the double cut pork chop top the list for meats. Many pasta dishes that are incredible. Outdoor dining available and perfect for the later part of summer. A little pricey, but well worth it! more

Wonderful Romantic restaurant. The food is hearty and comforting. The service was helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was beautiful. The prices are not shocking. Great place! If you want to have a special occassion dining experience, this is the place for it! more

The location of this restaurant at the foot of the towering Wasatch Mountains lend a feeling of remoteness. It's a great date restaurant if you're on a budget--there are lots of nooks and crannies for a romantic feel, but the price is right. It can get quite crowded on weekends, however, making quiet conversation nearly impossible. I've always found the service has been competent and friendly. Pros: Romantic Cons: Valet parking only more

This was an annual anniversary haunt. Food was impeccable. Service was mediocre. I found the noise level a bit piercing, but otherwise enjoyed our meal. Try the veal scallopini....superb. I would have preferred seating on the terrace. more
