Great little taste of Spain. 10/28/2010

This place is totally authentic , delish spanish food. the paella was amazing and is plenty big enough to share with about 3 people. The tapas was were delicious. Our favorite was the steak tapa and our least favorite was the short rib just because it was a little dry. Overall a great restaurant with a cool, comfortable vibe. more

Truly a Hidden Gem 8/5/2009

I only discovered the Turquoise a year or two ago, and it is hands down my favorite place for dinner and drinks; first it's the ambience that hooked me, but the food is amazing, the service is friendly and attentive, the music is wonderful, and everyone is smiling--it?s really out of this world. I actually took a picture of my dish on Mother?s Day last year because it was such perfectly crafted haute cuisine, it was delectable, and yet it?s very inexpensive! Even better, I just discovered that they've added a bunch of new things to the menu, and they?re offering a new happy hour menu that?s fantastically reasonable (3$, if I remember correctly, for the tapas, and the portions are huge). Furthermore, the live music has been remarkable (jazz, blues, or flamenco, they change it up). This place is so civilized, sophisticated, and at the same time the height of decadence, and the owner has taken care of all the details: even the ladies? bathroom is beautiful! I?m so glad he brought this little slice of Spain to PB; I can?t sing its praises highly enough! Pros: great food, service, music, and best ambience in town Cons: none, it's reasonably priced and very consistent more

Cozy, Romantic, Great Food 7/23/2009

We celebrated my friend's birthday and it was the right atmosphere for a little more sophisticated and intimate celebration when other bars & restaurants are too casual, beachy and loud. The scallop dish and mushroom rissotto were amazing. The service was very friendly and prompt (it was a quiet Monday night). Loved the live music. Would be a great date night -- dark and cozy, warm decor, candles on tables. Pros: Great food, live music, good ambience Cons: n/a more

Great place for a drink! 4/27/2009

I had a great time at Turquoise and would recommend it. The parking is bad but once you get in there it's worth it. The food is yummy, prices are good and the atmosphere is chill....perfect hang out for some drinks! Pros: atmosphere, tapas Cons: parking more

Beware of the Staff 8/8/2008

I have LOVED this place! Best happy hour! Great owner!! BUT!!!! BEWARE WHEN THE OWNER IS ABSENT OF THE PLACE! The staff becomes bi-polar and mean in his absence. I had a manager slam a patio door in my face when we sat at a table outside. The staff is cold and angry when no one is watching them. I hope you are reading this as an owner and scold your staff for their ill manners when you aren't around- PLEASE NEVER LEAVE! Pros: GREAT VIBE Cons: BAD STAFF when owner is gone more

Great Tapas, Cool Concept for North PB, Poor Service 6/24/2008

I dine here a good bit and have been for awhile and I usually really enjoy myself. Unfortunatly our last experience was not so great. We were entertaining guests and decided to go to Turquoise because it was near home and fun spot with music, and good food. Upon arrival everything was nice drinks came out quickly, and our food order was taken pretty quickly. The restaurant was pretty full upon arrival but then continued to get quite busy. Understandable being that it was a Thursday night, however our server was quick to bring us our first two dishes (ordered about 6 or 7) and then apparently forgot the rest of them. We ordered a bottle of wine initially but then had to go up and ask the bartender for the next bottle, as well as the rest of our food. Our server then realized the problem and apologized that he dropped all of our remaining food to the large party that showed up after us and would put another order in for us. That took forever music was nice though, they were clearly just understaffed for the night. Worst part was my friend and I were treating our guests so we split the bill but the bartender who we had to go up and give our cards to mixed up our bill with a large parties in the mix. Our cards were charged for the much larger amount and then charged again for our party, it took over a week for the credit to appear back on our accounts so needless to say we hope that the staff gets some help and tunes up there skills a bit. more

Best ambiance and tapas in town! 2/11/2008

I highly recommend Turquoise Cafe Europa for a fun evening out! They've got great, friendly staff who are always ready to give detailed explanations of their yummy menu items. Their tapas are not only delectible, but they arrive to your table super quick! The ambiance is warm and relaxing, and the nightly entertainment adds a nice jazzy touch of kewlness! We're semi-regulars and every experience has been wonderful! I highly recommend the Turquiose Cafe Europa for good eats, entertainment, and atmosphere! Four plus stars! Pros: Ambiance & Great Tapas Cons: No parking more

TAPAS! 1/29/2008

Terrible Service 9/7/2007

I read reviews on this site and saw it was best of 2007 so we went last night. We got there and I was excited about the place because it was cute, inexpensive, fun...However, they were out of caprese (that's ok, it happens)but the server had the busser bring out my husband's entree and forgot mine. 20 minutes went by and he didn't come near our table so I could ask where my food was. After 20 minutes I told the hostess and she sent him over and he asked what I was missing, not even apologizing! I asked him for a menu to order another drink also. 10 minutes later the cook brought out my ahi and put it on the wrong table and walked away. The man at the table stopped the cook and said it wasn't his so the cook gave me the food. Even then, the server still didn't check on us or take my drink order. Finally I asked for the manager and he cut me off at the part of me not receiving my food and said that tapas in Europe come out as ready not all at the same time. (Pasta and ahi aren't an over 20 minute difference). Then I told him about the cook giving it to someone else and the server still not coming to my table and he finally said that was unacceptable and offered to pay our tab. Pros: Place is very cute and great if you don't need a server and just want to listen to music Cons: Service is bad!! Wine list is not that extensive more
