We were referred to Turf Works, Inc. by someone else in our neighborhood. My husband and I are very particular people, but all we can say about Turf Works is... WOW. We used them for three years while we lived in our previous house. They would come weekly. We saw that they would take the time to do the little things for us. If there was any work that I wasn't happy with, they would make it right. When I requested new flowers, they listened, and Greg came to my house and showed me pictures. We literally walked into my backyard to create the vision. He was above and beyond any landscaper I have ever had anywhere. You will not regret hiring Turf Works, Inc. If you go with them, you will get your weekends back, AND your yard will look amazing. more

Greg has done our personal residence ever since he opened his business and he's not your typical "mow and blow" guy. We're so lucky to have him. I'm a property manager so I've also been using his services for some of our properties if the owner chooses and the houses he works on always look very good. He goes above and beyond to make sure things are well kept and groomed. His guys do a lot more than any yard maintenance service. Turf Works, Inc. produced our entire backyard. It was unfinished previously, so they installed everything for us: a new patio, retaining walls, sod for the lawn, a driveway extension, and work on the side of our house. It took them three weeks to complete everything. Greg met with us at our home to talk us through the whole process. He made us feel like our backyard was a priority to them. We came to him with our ideas and he made really great suggestions for us. He knew what he was talking about, too, so he was able to articulate why certain features would be best for our yard. We implemented pretty much all of his recommendations, and we felt confident in all that the suggested. Greg's crew was amazing and professional. We couldn't have asked for a better team. They were always respectful about what we may have been doing in our home. They were never disruptive. They arrived on time every single day. They were just very hard workers. We were so happy with how everything came out. We've had friends come over, and they are blown away with the quality. We've also had neighbors comment on how good a job they did and the quality of the products and techniques that Turk Works used. It was nice to have people who knew what to look for comment on our landscapers' work. The only issue we experienced was that we asked for a lemon tree and an orange tree. They had accidentally planted two orange trees instead. We let Greg know, and he acknowledged and fixed the problem right away. They were so easy to get a hold of throughout the whole project. They made this large scale project completely stress free for us. more

Turf Works completely re-landscaped our backyard in Davis. Theie bid was not the lowest, but I felt they were the most professional. Greg (owner) is not a big talker, but listens well and follows up to correct problems. He also was flexible when we wanted to make changes. We are very pleased with the results. more

We used Turf Works to install our back yard. They followed our plans (They can also design, if needed.) and made suggestions to enhance the project and to keep costs down. They completed the installation within the time frame we decided upon and were extremely professional in every way. The results are fantastic and we got exactly what we wanted. more

Turf Works does my both landscaping and maintenance. First, Greg is a very personable person. He's available by email, local, and willing to come to my area from Vacaville. He has good ideas, but he's also willing to do for us what we want. I'm very happy with our relationship. Not all of our plants made it through the Winter, but I'll talk to them soon and find out if they're willing to stand by them. more

They're a good company. Greg, the owner of Turf Works, did a large landscaping job for me, and it was very good work. They're outstanding. Turf Works was just incredibly good. They came to us with a big booklet of ideas and design plans. They were really responsive to our design and budget concerns. They were so fast. They were done in about 8 or 9 days which was less than what they told us it would take. Once they hit the ground running, they moved so much work through that area in such a short amount of time. more

My wife and I hired Turf Works for a landscaping project at the recommendation of a neighbor. We just had a brand new house built, and wanted to beautify the yard. Greg is a great guy. He was very responsive throughout the job, an his crew was very professional, friendly and neat. He got two weeks worth of work done in six days, and we're very happy with the results. Turf Works planted trees and shrubs in the yard, laid sod, poured a concrete patio, and set gravel down on the side of the house for the trash cans. They also built my wife a raised flower bed. Everything turned out beautifully. You can count on them to be on time, and to answer your phone calls. Greg is very approachable, and just a nice guy. He was very patient with me, and even took the time to stand in my hot garage and explain how to use my sprinkler system, even though it was installed by another contractor. I almost don't know where to start. We have been in our home for 17 years, and in that time have had more than 10 landscapers. We have had our yard professionally designed twice, the most recent time using Turf Works. They did a great job then, but we didn't think about using them for regular maintenance, even though we'd had some awful landscapers in the past. Well, not long after they redid our yard, they came back to us offering regular service, and we decided to give them a shot. That was in '06, and we've been using them once a week, year round, since then. We have experienced some true nightmares involving landscapers over the years, so when Turf Works approached us, we didn't have very high expectations. Greg's quoted price seemed high at first, but he convinced me to give him a chance, assuring me that I would like what I received for my money. Talk about exceeded expectations. It quickly became evident that Greg's word was gold, because we've been consistently amazed by the service. To give a brief example, they will vacuum up the leaves in the Fall, and inevitable some either can't be reached, or escape somehow. The Turf Works guys will pick up the extras by hand, until there isn't a single leaf on the ground. I've personally observed this several times. Also, they will never blow leaves or debris into the neighbor's yard; everything goes away with them. They even take care of the city median, just to make our house look that little bit better. If I ever require anything in addition to the regular service, I can simply send Greg an email. The next time the crew comes out, they will come to the door to address the task with me, to make sure they understand my wishes. Sometimes Greg will come out himself to discuss the job, and work on it himself. The crew will sometimes have suggestions, too, and will ask we what I think about taking a little bit of this shrub here, or relocating this plant there. It is truly a first class service--almost too good to be true. I am grateful for them, because I know Greg and I know the crew, and can consistently rely on them to deliver. Greg is a perfectionist, and very detail-oriented. But he's also able to see the big picture, and can make a work of art out of your yard. They could probably be a much larger business, but there aren't enough Gregs to go around, and he's dedicated to providing the personal touch. I have tried hard to think of just one negative aspect of the Turf Works experience, and honestly can't think of a thing. more

We were very indecisive about the whole process. We started with a great design that included extra amenities we hadn't even thought about. Turf Works has done a ton of work for me. Greg is really good! English is his first language, so that's definitely a plus when it comes to communication, and that's a rarity when it comes to most groundskeepers. I refer him all the time. A great example of the work he does was when my neighbors had just cut down some of their trees. I wanted to do something with colors, and I explained that I wanted jasmines or something, and Greg will come up with recommendations for me. He'll go down to a nursery, call me from the nursery, and give me ideas on what to do. It will all be done that day too, so no worries, he's definitely on top of things! Greg is very organized, and very professional. He doesn't mess around. If anything, he's more costly than your average groundskeepers, but in my opinion it's worth it. It's always done right, exactly the way you talked about, and always in the time frame you set with him. He takes care of my backyard every week, and he's actually the one who landscaped the whole thing to begin with. He takes care of you, and you definitely get what you pay for. more

Last summer (2010) Greg and Turf Works re-landscaped part of our backyard. This included removing/adding landscaping in two sections, filling in other areas, and building an entirely new vegetable garden. They also added a pergola, shielded the AC unit and added another wood feature. A little less than a year later everything is established and our backyard received rave reviews from friend and visitors. At that time Greg commented that "he'd like to have a crack" at our front yard, which we had been deliberating for quite a while. This spring we finally decided to pull the trigger. Turf Works removed nearly everything that was planted and started from scratch with a design that complimented our home's architecture. We couldn't be more pleased with the quality of work and finished product, and highly recommend Greg and his team. more
