Perfect to Take a Beginning Hiker 2/23/2006

Tryon Creek State Park is a forest oasis in the city of Lake Oswego. Easy driving distance from most anywhere in the Portland area, it offers an escape from the city life for a couple of hours. While not a large natural area, there are a variety of trails to choose from. A small nature center providing maps, information and gift shop, is great place to start for new visitors. The trails are easy and perfect to take a beginning hiker. Lush and green anytime of year with a large canopy of evergreen trees, pack a lunch, stay awhile and enjoy the scenery. more
