Great Service 7/12/2011

Troy Animal Hospital has a wonderful emergency and after hours service. They have always responded quickly to any issues our pets have had, including when one was attacked by a coyote! They have also been very prompt with call backs to us whether it be to check in on our pets after a surgery or any questions we have had. more

Compassionate care 9/23/2010

After watching my cat breath funny I went into a panic. He had lost a lot of weight and I knew something was severely wrong. I called my vet who didn't have any openings that day or the next and tried 2 other vets in the area with no openings. One suggested Troy Animal Hospital. I went in and asked if they could see him and they told me to bring him in. The staff was so caring and understanding and Dr. Davis was great. They explained everything thoroughly and all the cost every step of the way. This is just a great goup to bring your critters in to when they get ill. I ended up taking him back several times in a panic and on a whim and they took him strait in. These people love what they do. I am going to use this office from now on. more

Great Vet 10/25/2005

The Troy Animal Hospital and Bird clinic is one of the best vets I have ever visited. They treat all kinds of animals and birds. They are available for 24 hour emergency service. They perform surgery and regular checkups. I have taken my bird there and they are the most experienced with birds in this area. The facility is new and clean. The staff is all very friendly and loving to you and your animal. I would recommend them to anyone. more

  • Founded in 1976, the Troy Animal Hospital and Bird Clinic is an American Animal Hospital Association (A.A.H.A) accredited practice dedicated to providing the best comprehensive care possible for the pets of the Miami Valley and surrounding areas. Dr. Lonnie Davis, the practice's founder, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, specializing in Canine and Feline Practice. He has a special interest in canine hip dysplasia evaluation and has a wide-spread reputation for his experience and technique in doing these radiographs. Dr. Julie Peterson enjoys the challenges and special care needed by some of the more exotic pets owned by our clients. She's seen ferrets, snakes, rabbits, rats, iguanas and birds in addition to the more traditional dogs and cats. Dr. Sarah Morrow graduated in 2007 from Ohio State and practiced in Florida before returning to Ohio. She truly enjoys coming to work every day and all aspects of veterinary medicine and is especially fascinated by internal medicine cases. Everyone at Troy Animal Hospital is genuinely interested in keeping pets as healthy and long-lived as possible and we do our best to ensure all appropriate measures to accomplish that are taken. State-of-the-art diagnostics such as an in-house lab, digital radiography, ultrasound and E.K.G capabilites aid us in doing a thorough evaluation of your pet's health. Dentistry, grooming, surgical services, laser surgery and a medical therapy laser help us treat the whole patient. So if you are looking for a Troy veterinary hospital with doctors and staff dedicated to improving the lives and health of your pets we invite you to stop by and meet our team. No matter the size of the pet---we see them all from rats, birds and reptiles to dogs and cats---our goal is the same: to keep them happy and healthy! Surgical Services Here at Troy Animal Hospital, we offer a wide range of surgical procedures from routine spays, neuters and declaws to more complicated tumor removals and some orthopedic surgery. The safety of our patients is very important to us so we use the best anesthetic available and monitor each pet carefully during surgery. We also provide state-of-the-art laser surgery on many of the procedures we perform. Dental cleanings/extractions Dental health is as important for our pets as it is for us! Oral abscesses, cavities and gingivitis can lead to other illnesses in animals such as liver disease, heart valve damage and kidney disease. Therefore, we provide full-service dental cleanings complete with ultrasonic scaling and fluoride treatments. Radiology Digital x-ray is here! We are proud to offer the newest technology available in radiographs. Our doctors and trained technicians can perform a wide range of radiographic needs right here in our clinic. On-Site Laboratory Our on-site laboratory allows us to run most blood samples right in our clinic. In just a short time, we can have results on heartworm, thyroid or leukemia tests as well as full health screens for geriatric visitors. We also provide ultrasound and E.K.G with the ability to send x-ray, lab tests, ultrasound and E.K.G electronically for consultation.
