They are the BEST! Our Tucker had bladder issues so bad..tried VCA and they made us wait for 45 minutes my baby nearly died from their apathy. TAH was caring, they saved my baby's life and even took payments. I love them I would recommend them to anyone looking for a caring vet and reasonable prices. more

I love, love, love Dr. Evans at Tropicana Animal Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. My cat was at deaths door and a different animal hospital had recommended that I put him to sleep. They told me he only had a month to live. Then I took him to Dr. Evans and he saved his life! Now Max is just fine and dandy and we are a happy family. more

It is Cheap, but you get what you pay for 9/16/2011

So I have searched around for many vets and found Tropicana. I am on a budget as we all are and Tropicana is inexpensive. No exam fees for vaccines, cheap treatments, etc. However, the buidling is old, cockroaches are everywhere, and I find the place to be unwelcoming. I equate it to a factory. No personalities, the vets are cold, and I feel the medicine is sub-par. But again, you get what you pay for. more

The Morons who write Negative things... 2/12/2011

For all the negative reviews let me ask all of them this one question: When you go to the Human Doctors if you have no Insurance do you NOT have to pa y up front? Or do they say oh don't worry about it we will treat you for free? No they never say that ever. So for all of you who claim that TAH is money hungry let me tell you something Dr. Nave has 15 Animal Hospitals in the Las Vegas Valley and if he were so awful how could he have so many hospitals? more

tah sucks and are very heartless! 12/19/2010

this place just made me sooo mad! i called and asked the lady if she had time to talk and she said okay but hurry.i told her about the problem i was having with my dog that was barlly breathing and just had puppies yesterday and looked like she was gonna die. this all begans after i tried to save a dogs life that someone dumped off on the side of the road, that ended up having pravo and 3 out four of my dogs caught it and died! now i only have the one thats acting like shes dieing also but wasnt sure if it was parvo or if it was the birth taking a toll on her but the lady just keep saying well your gonna have to have 100 dollars 60 for testing and plus the cost of the office visit. its just a shame how people are now a days! even after explaing to her i just lost my job. she just said well maybe you can find someones credit card you can charge but we cant help without a least a 100 dollars! what jerks. more

I read the reviews and am amazed. Right now I have an almost 1000 dollar balance for previous care and I have to bring my dog in and the answer was "just bring him in". Great vets in my opinion more

Dr. Fontes and the staff are amazing!!! They really care! 2/13/2010

I have be using TAH for over 6 years and they have always been there to help. Dr. Fontes is an amazing doctor recently two of my cats have had liver failure and I had no idea on what or why but Dr. Fontes has been there every step of the way with us going out of his way to call and check up on my babies and he always calls and lets me know how there doing, always answers all of my questions and you can tell he is a good person who really cares about animals now I only trust all of my animals to him. Dr. Fontes even came in on his day off to do the surgery on my dog all I have to say is he and the staff at Tropicana animal hospital are amazing and I would recommend any who really cares if their vet hospital actually cares about there animals to go to TAH!!! You'll always be close to our hearts TAH and thank you so very much!!! Pros: They are all very caring and amazing people! Cons: N/A more

Dr. McDermott is AMAZING 1/6/2010

Our doxie has been having a lot of back problems lately. She has several herniated discs and after several emergency trips here, and many office visits, and finally one surgery Roxie is now going to be doing MUCH better. The best part is that throughout the whole thing Dr. McDermott has made sure that he was available to be the one to help us (even emergency night trips and to observe and even breathe for Roxie during the surgery). I would not have trusted anybody else to be in that situation with my baby and would recommend anyone do there. He is the most amazing and caring vet I have ever had the opportunity to use. Pros: MOST CARING VETS! more

AFTER A CUST0MER REPRESENTATIVE NAMED ASHLEY PR0VED T0 ME THAT N0 MATTER H0W HURT MY 12 WEEK 0LD KITTEN WAS IF N0 M0NEY WAS PAID IN ADVANCE MY VISIT T0 THE VET W0ULD BE HELPLESS! Need a very good & caring vet go here!!! 9/3/2009

We had called to many many vets when our dog tore her second ACL muscle in her leg. She had this surgery last summer so we knew the cost should be under $2000. We called over a dozen vets who all told us between $2500-$3200. We called TAH, and talked to one of the front office staff who connected us with Dr. Fontes. He spent at least 45 minutes with us on the phone discussing our options and estimated our bill for full surgery (including pre/post op xrays, boarding, medication, etc) to be around $1800. On the day of surgery he called us when our sweet Nalla was going into surgery, and when she was done with surgery. He spent about 15 minutes on the phone the day after her surgery answering all of my additional questions. They even were able to offer us in house payment options because we weren't able to get approved for the care credit. Tropicana Animal Hospital has a great staff, and great vets who aren't more concerned with the money than providing great care for your pets. We adore them and would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for a new vet. Pros: Excellent people, payment plans available more

Gentle and Caring 5/21/2009

I've tooking my dog to Tropicana Animal Hospital over a span of 4 years off and on...each time it was a very very pleasent experience, the last time i took him there and the staff rushed me into a room right away and shortly after.. i would say not evening five min's later the doctor came in. My dog was very old (19yrs old) and he gave me my options right away and told me that exactly what he thought. AND I GREATLY APPRECIATE the honestly i recieved. My dog did have to be put to sleep and the hospital held him there until I could afford to pay for his cremation for a span of one month..there are no word to describe how much i appreciate the staff and hospital and I do recommend them to anyone who has a pet and live on that side of town A+ FOR SURE!!! Excellent Care and Compassion!!!!! 12/18/2008

I am relatively new to Vegas and have had every pet owner's problem of finding that perfect veterinarian. I have two pit bulls, both sweet but sometimes need a little patience. I have been going to Tropicana Animal Hospital for abour 8 months and have made a few visits in that short amount of time. I first saw Dr. Fontes who was excellent and took time to discuss and answer the many questions I had about my dogs. Just recently my pitbull Shadow came down with a horrible skin infection, itching and scratchign and driving me nuts. I saw Dr. Bone and he took so much time to talk to me about causes of the skin problem and recommended not only what was needed to help my baby in the short term but we also talked about diets and what to do to prevent this problem in the future. Both Dr Bone and Fontes are amazing!!!! I tell all my friends to go there. THe front desk staff seems a little stressed but I can imagine why after handling people like me all day :) Pros: LOVE THE DOCS! more

Great Vet Hospital! 10/9/2008

I have been taking my animals to Tropicana for years. Always the doctors I have seen have been great. They seem to care so much for the well being of my pets and I trust them completely. I have seen Drs. Brooks, McDermott, and most recently Dr. Bone. Although they all appear to be young their knowledge base is great. Best Animal hospital in Vegas 10/1/2008

Great place! Very cheap prices compared to other places in Vegas. I boarded my dogs there and I have had no problems, they came back clean and healthy. Doctors are careing and helpful with any and all of your needs. I had to put down another dog I had and the doctors there were so caring and helpful with the whole process. Highly recommend! The building is a little older but the staff & doctors are 1st class! Pros: 7 days a week, great staff, cheap prices, and caring doctors. Cons: older building more

i have trusted dr fontes and dr chang with all of my dogs. they have pulled us through some very grim times . and the service and care was top notch the way they contact you and let you know step by step treatments and how your animal is doing. most vets shy away from you calling to see how your pet is here they encourage it. Pros: always there and willing to help Cons: a little more pricey than other vets but well worth it more

I DID NOT RATE THIS PLACE ,10 DAY AGO MY 2 DOGS WHERE BOARDED THERE FOR 3 DAYS DUE TO FAMILY ER. YESTERDAY BOTH MY DOG BEGAN THE DREADED KENNEL COUGH. I CALL FOR AN RX BUT WAS TOLD HAD TO BRING THEM IN .I AM ON A FIXED INCOME AND EXPLAINED THIS TO THEM THAT I COULDN'T AFFORD AN OFFICE VISIT. SO NOW IM HERE TRYING TO NURSE MY 2 DOGS . DOSE ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW WHAT I CAN DO. WHAT CAN I DO? more

Thank goodness 7/16/2007

I moved here to Las Vegas from Colorado and needed a great vet to take care of my kitties, one day my oldest cat a 6 year old Bangel Mix was acting very strange. I sat down on the couch and she came up with me and curled up with me which was odd because she is a loving cat but usually does not sit on people. I reached down to scratch her neck and I felt a golf ball sized lump, I was so scared so I called Tropicana Animal Hospital, they told me to bring her down straight away. I took her down and it was a good thing I did because she had an absess. The doctor went ahead and drained it and sent me home with a healthy kitty. She was upset for a while due to the tube in her neck that we had to clean every day for about 2 weeks but at least she was alive. THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH TROPICANA ANIMAL HOSPITAL!!!!!!!! Pros: Very friendly staff and they deffinitly make sure your furry friends are taken care of in a very timely manner. more

We have used Tropicana exclusively for the past 3 years, and Dr. Brooks is absolutely the best. Very professional and competent, and he actually listens to what you have to say, and explains things in terms that are easy to understand. I only wish more ""people"" doctors had his approach! Highest recommendations! more
