I went to Tropical Acres recently and thoroughly enjoyed the sizzling hot steak, cooked to perfection Filet Mignon. The steak comes out on a sizzling hot plate and the lobster tails...EXCELLENT. This place is celebrating their 60th anniversary and no wonder...they do it right and at the right price. we dine at tropical acres whenever we can. its our go to restaurant. there is something on the menu for every palate. steaks, seafood, and italian dishes. everytime we dine here we can count on great service and delicious food. i recommend their combination platters and summer clambakes! more

Broward County's Best Kept Secret 5/28/2009

Everytime I visit Tropical Acres I have a difficult time deciding what to order. My favorite is the Prime Rib and I just read that they are having a Prime Rib and Twin Lobster special in June '09. Sign up on their website for their e-mail specials, right off the bat they invite you in with a complimentary appetizer. Pros: PRIME RIBS - WOW! Cons: Hard to choose what to order! more

Every time I go to Tropical Acres always have a great experience and a terrific dinner. I love going with my friends for dinner and drinks and it is my favorite date night restaurant. It is the perfect combination of a traditional family restaurant and high class quality dinning. Thier prime rib is awesome and I reccommend the baked onion soup and escargot! more

Never a dissapointment 5/23/2009

I could make a meal our of thier escargot, gorganzola toast and capresse salad...but I just love the way they grill thier filet mignon. It is so flavorful and always cooked just the way I like it. The service is also amazing, no other restuarant goes out of thier way like Tropcal Acres. Last week my friend was visiting and we went for dinner..she wanted an special drink that had particulatr ingredients and clearly not something on the regular drink list-she asked the server anyway and before we knew it the manager himself made us the drinks and brought them to our table- Talk about above and beyond! I reccommend Tropical Acres to anyone who wants a great meal and a good time. Pros: Amazing steaks and appetizers Cons: I would make a reservation on some nights more

This place may have been a happening spot . . . in the 70's. The menu, decor and wait staff haven't changed much since then. Steaks were tasteless. A good steak is one that doens't need steak sauce . . . I drenched my steak in sauce. The waiters appeared to be working in retirement, ours needed some extra ginko. My wife asked for a glass of Red Zifandel off the menu. . . Gallo White Zifandel was delivered. When we tried to send it back the waiter didn't seem to understand that there was such a thing as Red Zifandel . . .we gave up. more

Great Steaks, as good as the high priced chains at 1/2 the price. 1/26/2009

My wife and I dine out 2 times a week. Since finding Tropical Acres, it has been tough to justify spending $30+ on a steak dinner some place else. Their prices are very reasonable, $25 for a 10 ounce filet with a side and salad. My wife loves their prime rib and onion soup. And the crab cakes are unparalleled (16.95). The service ranges from good to great. They are very intuned to their guests needs. The one time my steak was slightly overcooked, the server noticed it himself and had a new filet in front of me in 2 minutes. I was quite impressed. The restaurant is family run and very consistent. We highly recommend it! Pros: Service, valet parking, VALUE Cons: Slightly outdated, but appropriate for a restaurant that opened in 1949. more

Wonderful food and service 4/2/2007

I've been going to Tropical Acres for the past 25 years, and the food is always wonderful and the service is great! Their meat is more tender than any chain restaurant's, and their sides and home-made salad dressings are delicious. This has been a favorite of my family for as long as I can remember (we have become friends with the Studiales, the owners), and we've even had some parties in their private banquet rooms (bridal showers and graduation parties). The food is very reasonably priced - especially if you get there early enough to get the early bird special, which comes with soup, salad, and dessert. Their prime rib is amazing, and their filet mignon is the best I've had! My husband and I moved out of the area about a year ago, but whenever I visit I make it a point to get to TA! Pros: Delicious food, tender steak, and great service Cons: The crowd tends to be a little older (but in South Florida, what do you expect!?) more
