My bike's favorite place in the world 11/7/2010

I'm surprised about the bad reviews. I've been going for repairs for years and I have had nothing but good results. I've had my bike repaired there many times, and came in to consider a new purchase once. I ended up deciding to keep my old bike for a little longer, and while my browsing experience wasn't bad, they were passionate about their bikes in a way that some might find annoying, but I didn't go there to be coddled. I went there because they know their stuff. As for repairs, they are just great, the best in town as far as my experience goes. I've never had a repair done there that I wasn't satisfied with. Today I dropped off my bike for what I thought would have been a major repair involving the pedal crank arm. It was fixed a few hours later for $10 bucks, and they made a few free adjustments while they were at it. Got the bike back it great shape, which is exactly what I've come to expect from Trophy. more

Swindlers, jerks, and cannot guarantee their service. 2/16/2009

I've dealt with Trophy Bikes a few times mainly because of their proximity to my apartment and every time I needed a repair I reluctantly went back there just because of the distance to any other bike shop. Their goods are overpriced and THEY DO NOT GUARANTEE THEIR WORK. On top of that, when you bring in your bike for service, they'll tell you they like to leave a $20.00 grace period in case they find something else wrong so they don't have to call you. Inevitably, they will charge you that extra $20.00. Pros: Location Cons: Rude staff, non-guaranteed work, overpriced materials, slow labor more

Owner is confrontational and degrading 12/20/2007

I had a very bad experience with Trophy. They failed to find a simple problem (wire in the tire causing slow leaks), which another bike shop was able to find and fix easily. When I called to let them know about my concerns, the employee who answered was very nice and professional. HOWEVER, the owner, Mike, came on the phone and immediately began speaking to me in a very DISRESPECTFUL tone, which only got worse as time went on. I will never go back, not even because they didn't do a careful job in diagnosing my problem, but because I will not support the owner. more

Not much selection, not much help 11/28/2007

I can't say I would recomend buying a bike from here. The folding bikes they had were cool, However, I had a hard time finding what was on sale and was a repair. I couple of times I asked how about that bike, inevidably it was a repair bike, leaning up on a new bike. It was very confusing. Also did not have much selection in other stuff like clothing and helmets. more

Indifference to loyal customers and don't back their product 8/8/2007

Been going to Trophy bikes for 4 years, but now I will start looking for some other place to do business with. Within 6 months of purchasing a 900$ bicycle this past year, the bike required new parts that equaled almost 30% of the cost of the purchase originally - (think of having to replace your transmission 6 months into owning your car ). When asked for a break on the parts that should never have needed replacing that soon, I was given a LOT of grief about it - the bike had been on sale, so we'd supposedly gotten it for a steal....I guess the fact that they sold a bike with crummy parts on it was a footnote to them......as was the fact that we'd spent thousands and thousands of dollars there over the past 4 years and that plenty of profit had been made at our own expense. They clearly place no value on customer loyalty - Pros: Good stock, their technicians are great Cons: Mike, the owner can't recognize the value of a loyal customer more

Wide selection of good bikes 5/13/2006

For used classic bicycles, go to Via Bicycles. For anything else, go here. Great selection, from folders via fully equipped commuting bikes to custom tourers and racing bikes, plus panniers, trailers, etc etc. Knowledgable, friendly and helpful staff. Pros: great selection, great service more
