Tropea Ristorante Italiano

We have eaten at Tropea several times now and are never disappointed - the food is delicious and the staff attentive. Although the restaurant itself is small, it makes up for the size in a big way with great service, fantastic meals and friendly staff. After reading so many rave reviews, and in anticipation of our trip to Italy, we decided to try it. Boy, what a mistake! We were greeted and seated promptly by very nice staff. Depending on our waiter's suggestions, we ordered the house salad, spinach ravioli and a pasta with shrimp. The salad arrived drenched in so much dressing the lettuce was wilted. The ravioli arrived and was swimming in pasta water. I had to drain the pasta water off onto my bread plate. Even with salt and pepper, the ravioli was so bland I finally gave up. The shrimp and pasta dish was okay but the portion was skimpy - 3 small shrimp and about 1 cup of rotinni at the bargain price of $16. We left very dissapointed and will not go back. There are too many quality Italian places in Redmond that deserve our money and time. Pros: Great Wait Staff, Parking out Front, Nice ambiance Cons: Terrible Food, Overpriced, Small Portions more
