great beer selection 6/5/2006

I normally avoid crowded, trendy Rittenhouse-area hangouts, but i make an exception for Tria. The beer selection is tremendous. I like the way beers are classified not by style or by country, but by mood (friendly, invigorating, profound, or extreme). It's the only place in town i've been able to find Perkuno's Hammer (a rich Porter from Delaware's Heavyweight Brewing) on tap. The bartenders know their beer. more

great wine, overpriced food 9/14/2005

Tria has a great wine list and a cozy, intimate feel. A great place for light conversation with friends. Great wine list and the staff is very helpful of pairing a wine with your mood. The food on the other hand is not that good. Very small portions and high prices. Try the outdoor seating for good people watching. I heard that they might be relocating to a bigger location later this Winter (2006). They could use a little more space. more

Try new drinks 8/10/2005

Tria specializes in the Fermentation Trio of wine, cheese and beer, however, their food is amazing! Not big meals, but more tapas-like dishes suited for sharing. Their White Truffle Scented Wild Mushroom and Brie Grilled Panino (sandwich) for $8 is out of this world! The staff is very knowledgeable, and if you want to explore different drinks, on Sundays they have their "Sunday School" menu, where they write a little educational piece on featured wines/beers. more
