fuel pump on 99 cadillac 4/11/2013

I had my caddy towed to Tri Action because it wasn't starting. After waiting a day for them to diagnose the problem, they came back to inform me that I needed a new fuel pump assembly and a fuel filter. The mechanic would have to drop the fuel tank in order to replace the fuel pump assembly and the total cost of repair was to equal $985.00. I got on the trusty internet, found the part for $300.00, got on a cadillac forum and found out that you can access the fuel pump from inside the trunk and it is NOT neccassary to drop the fuel tank. I did the job myself by watching it on youtube and saved myself over $600.00. The job took less then an hour to do. Parts =$300, 1 hour of labor =$685?? I don't think so. Nice try guys. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 2/19/2013

Unfortunately cars break down and sometimes the problem is worse than originally thought. This just so happened to be the case with my vehicle. I don't blame Tri-Action, or Mike for this problem, but the way it was figured out and how I was treated afterward is the problem. When on the phone with Tim, I was going through my own check list of how this happened. I was concerned, confused and a little frustrated; although, I never let that show. While asking questions I could tell that Tim was getting extremely upset. So that is when I decided to go up to the shop and talk face to face. Bad idea! I have never seen a grown man, that owns a business, act like such a child. I never once raised my voice or insulted anyone, but Tim sure thought I did. He got red in the face, threw a tantrum, cursed and stormed off. Mike, the mechanic, calmly explained what had happened in a way that made sense. I paid my bill, unhappy, and was about to be on my way, but Tim wasn't done yet. He came back into the shop and we got into the worst verbal confrontation that I have ever been a part of. I've taken my cars here plenty of times, and like most, have always been happy. I truly believe that the mechanics know what they are doing; however, I don't know how anyone could trust an owner that acted the way Tim did. Go ahead and take your car here, they will probably fix it fine, but just don't ever ask a question, or question if the work was done right, or like most smart people, get a second opinion. As for me, I will be finding a repair shop that remembers that the customer is the one keeping the shop running. A day ago I would have told anyone I knew to take their car here. Now, I will only tell people about how big of child Tim was and have a good laugh when I think about how high is blood pressure must of been. And to think all of this could have been avoided if he just calmly talked to me like a man. more

Integrity 6/30/2011

Tim and the team at Tri-Action always shoot straight with me when I bring my cars in. They teach and give me information without pushing me to make a repair I don't need. And always with respect! You can drive away knowing you haven't ""been taken for a ride."" Thanks! more

Horrible 6/8/2011

I questioned the price of a part and the person behind the counter followed me out of the store screaming and cussing at me. This was several years ago but I make sure everyone I can find knows what horrible srvice I got at this establishment. Shouldn't even be in business. more

Very honest mechanics 7/27/2008

I've taken my car to Tri Action a few times now, and every time I do, I'm completely sure that I have been dealt with fairly. The repairs and customer service are excellent. I've found places that are a bit cheaper, but none that are better at getting my car back on the road ASAP. You can trust them. Pros: Quick repairs, overnight key drop off, they will give you the honest scoop on what you do and don't need to fix Cons: the cost is fair, but some places are cheaper more
