My story: I wanted to purchase a man's promise ring for my boyfriend. When we sat down with the owner, he showed us bands we could order from a book. He stated that if we didn't like the band, we could return it. He never showed us the band when it came in, or I would have told him this was not the color of gold that he would want. Scott wanted a dark gold. He placed the stones, supposedly, and told us that he would put two other stones in another color green on the sides. When I picked up the ring the two greens together looked hideous. It was so ugly, neither of us liked it on Christmas day. So I tried to take the ring back, because I didn't trust him anymore, and the owner said to me that it was a special order and he would agree to change the stones and try to make the gold band darker, but he also said something to me that really pissed me off. He said, "I think what your problem is, is that Scott really doesn't want to wear a ring." I couldn't believe what an ass he was. He lied to us about being able to return the band, plus he never showed it to me when it first came in. He should have showed us the stones and exactly how it would look before putting it together. I will never go back to this store again. The ladies were nice, but the owner talks to you in this slow, funeral parlor demeanor, and it's nauseating. I turned in some gold of mine, which he never told me how much it was worth, he weighed in in the back room, I am sure it was worth at least $500., plus I paid an additional $350 for this ring that we do not like. Plus the owner said he has been making Mason rings for 20 years, and he didn't even know what the symbols stood for, when Scott asked him, so he took away our trust in him completely.
