Hello All from Ellicott City Motorsports Service Department,\r We are posting to clarify some information that is not entirely accurate from a customer by the name known as “Yannis T” on Citysearch. Obviously there are always two sides to every story, so we would like to give our side of this story and our experience with this particular individual. “Yannis T” came into our shop for his service on March 3rd, 2012, which was a Schedule 2 Service and includes the following below-\r Inspect choke and throttle operation\r - Inspect all lights and switch operations\r - Inspect and service battery (as required)\r - Inspect all fluid levels\r - Inspect tire condition\r - Inspect wheels and wheel bearings\r - Inspect drive chain\r - Inspect brake hydraulic and mechanical systems\r - Inspect brake pads or shoes for wear \r - Check and adjust tire psi \r - Adjust engine rpms (if required)\r - Adjust clutch lever freeplay (if required)\r - Visually inspect condition of vehicle\r - Change oil and filter \r - Install fuel treatment\r - lubricate grease fittings\r - Inspect and adjust spokes\r - Change final drive fluid\r - Adjust and lube drive train\r - Adjust and lubricate cables\r - Inspect evaporative emission control system (where required)\r - Replace/service air filter\r This service costs $209.00 Plus Parts, which the customer was informed at the time of drop off and clearly stated in our shop on our bulletin board. Brake flush is not included on this schedule, but Engine and Shaft Oil is drained and new replaced. Nowhere does it say “Replace All Fluids” i.e.-Brake Fluids, Clutch Oil, Engine Coolant etc. on our SCHEDULE 2 SERVICE. The customer never once expressed he wanted his brake fluid flushed and changed during the point of drop off. \r As for the oil leak he is stating, the customer specifically asked for us to re-use his aftermarket re-usable oil filter which we do not recommend using here at the shop. We removed re-usable filter to clean unit of all debris and put back onto unit securely. Customer was informed that we do not carry aftermarket oil filters therefore we do not carry the proper o-rings to replace them and we do recommend using an OEM oil filter and customer declined offer.\r As for the light bulb issue, our technician was performing his routine safety inspection before removing unit from lift and noticed that the brake light was not functioning. Therefore we took it upon ourselves to go ahead and replace the bulb under goodwill for customers own safety and satisfaction. \r more

Caution is warranted when using this service department!\r I took my Kawasaki for a change of all fluids (brakes, clutch, engine oil, shaft oil) as they advertized it for what sounded a good price (about $300). The offer was even written on the board next to the service desk All new fluids, $...). When I went to pick it up, I noticed the brake fluids were not changed. Upon inquiring they responded that they had misexpressed what they meant and by all fluids they really meant just engine and shaft . No interest in sticking with the advertized deal but offered to correct their verbiage!\r I took the bike home and parked it in my garage. By morning there was a pool of oil under it and I also noticed I had left a line of oil in my driveway and the street. I was naturally upset (could have damaged my engine)while driven back like this) and made them come and pick it up. Left for a trip, returned, picked it up... Same thing. It turns out they were not changing the o-ring of my permanent oil filter which had compressed with time. \r After picking it up for the third time (on their dime), they proudly told me that they had also replaced the flickering brake light ( it was a weird bulb, pal ). My jaw dropped! This was a modulated light which had cost me $150. I asked them to put it back. They spent 15 min digging through their dumpster and when they came back sheepishly explained that they had found half of it only. They half-heartedly offered to buy me another but insisted that they had only had the best intentions and when I said go ahead they backed off.\r I left, $150 poorer and several hours older but all the wiser. Be careful if you visit them! more
