As a "retired" beauty writer for various fancy magazines, you'd think my waxing stories would be fairly dull. Purple wax here. A lollipop when it's over there. Etc. No. My waxing history is a violent one. I've been burned. I've been told lies. I've been touched oddly. I've been aggressively yelled at in Slavic languages. I've been made bald, striped, checkered - without wanting to be bald, striped, checkered.
Veronica avoided all these aforemetioned atrocities. She's from Spain. But also, she's from heaven. Anyway, I LOATH waxes. I am a total baby. So much I spent 1,000$ to have laser-hair-removal. (It did not work...American Laser Center = bad.)
But she made it (relatively) painless. And she was artful. And informative. And I felt comfortable. And, oddly enough, glamorous, which is curious ' cause I was sans-clothing on plastic bed with my legs in the air. Veronica is enlightened to the usual egregious spa-errors and is careful to avoid them, in addition to enlightening ME to the bad things that go on (in other salons) which I never even knew. THE HORROR! She's smart and takes her job very seriously, with a passion not usually seen in hair-removal.
That was exactly two weeks ago. I am still mostly hairless. And no in-growns. And I am actually looking forward to going back. Trust me. She created her own wax, which hurts less, does not break hairs. She takes her time. She's immaculate....and I don't know her and she did not pay me or cajole me in any way into writing this.
THE BEST WAX in my whole life BY FAR. (And, again, my life has been FULL of waxings....)
