Christmas Break 11/9/2011

I became sick at work on Christmas Eve. I didn't have a family doctor, so I decided to phone the Whetstone Medical Clinic on our way to the hospital. Not only did Dr. Trapp agree to see me, but he held the office open until I arrived. Obviously, I did not receive the wormest welcome from the staff - they were working past closing on Christmas Break - but Dr. Trapp treated me and saw to it that I was able to make it home to spend a healthy Christmas with my family. They don't teach that, in Medical School. more

My time is not important 11/15/2010

Good: I like our doctor and the ability to get in on short notice. Having a lab attached to the facility.. Bad: Overbooking. The amount of time you have to wait in the reception area or the examination room is quite simply, ridiculous. SOME of the front office staff seems unprofessional, uncaring. I've had to wait 15 to 20 minutes to get someone to come to the counter to even ask if I need assistance while the staff chat and giggle like school girls. I'm all for having a good time at work, but remember who is paying the bills. I don't like the feeling of being rushed when I see my physician.. Improvements: More appropriate scheduling. More professional staffing. How about a system to contact patients when the doctor is running an hour and half behind schedule (more often than not) to allow the patient to reschedule or come in later, so they don't have to sit in the lobby or the examination room for that time. My time has value too!. Other: I loved this office when we originally started scheduling appointments here, and stayed with them when we were assigned a new, young physician, Dr. Trapp. If Dr Trapp. were to go to another practice or start his own practice in the area, I would likely follow him. I don't fault individual staff members as much as much as the general vibe, which treats the customers more like cattle than patients.. more

gone downhill 9/30/2010

We have been going there for a long time. In the past year, however, things have really changed. They used to be excellent at making appointments and calling pts. back. Now, they are either booked or they just don't care. The main "triage" nurse is a joke - lousy attitude. I don't care how long she has been there, she needs to retire because she is frequently nasty on the phone, acting like pts are stupid. I am seriously thinking of going elsewhere. If they don't want us as patients, why don't they just say so, rather than not returning calls? Dr Paul & Dr Anna would be sorely disappointed in the way things are run now. more

Great Doctors 8/3/2010

Good: Doctors Martin and Jim are great doctors. My husband, mother, sister, aunt, uncle, and cousins all see Dr. Martin and he is a caring and compassionate doctor. My daughter sees Dr Jim and he has always been an caring and compassionate doctor and he cares very much for his community in which he lives and works.. Bad: The office staff do not seem to know what they are doing. Billing department is always making mistakes and takes several phone calls to get it resolved and heaven forbid you need to talk to the office manager because she has never been polite to anyone. Also one specific nurse can be very nasty to the patients she needs to retire.. Improvements: Better office staff! Need to clean house and get people in there who know their job well. As for the office manager, she needs an attitude adjustment and if that doesn't work I would recommend firing her. Older nurse, would prefer not to name her, needs to retire because she does not seem to enjoy her job anymore.. more

Best Drs. 3/8/2009

My husband started seeing Dr. Cale, a former Dr from the group, when he left he referred him to Dr. Jim & has been seeing Dr. Jim for about 4-5 years now. After having several back surgeries, {prior to seeing these Drs.} then kidney removed due to cancer in 2003, We have NEVER had a more sincere, considerate, polite, understanding group of Drs. & Nurses, they never limit the time Dr. Jim spends with him, there have been visits that he spent 45 mins to 1 hr with the Dr.{never waiting in a room for him to come in say hi, spend 30 seconds with you and leave!} They have never been demanding on copays. {My husband has medicare so they really don't get the pay they deserve} I really wish we would have found Dr. Jim years ago when the problems started. We would never suggest going someplace else if you are lucky enough to have this team as your healthcare profesionals! GOD BLESS THEM ALL!!! more

dr office 10/28/2005

Compared to other Dr.s offices this one is better than most. When we first started going to this group of dr.s you could not have asked for better physicians, but now with the malpractice suits they are more worried about money and not doing anything wrong, than with treating the patient and learning all about them. Overall they are still the best in the area, but could use a bit of the old caring that they had at the start. more
