Friendly professionalism 1/5/2011

Recently purchased my car there after hearing great things from a friend, and was very impressed by the friendly professionalism I experienced. Not only was my salesman honest and knowledgeable, but the managers were sensitive to my needs and did not ""push for a sale"" like I experienced at Germain. All around wonderful experience 1/3/2011

Excellent service! Greeted me at the door when I looked confused. Very calm and friendly while I waited; he showed me where to find coffee and goodies. Customized used vehicle to meet my needs, set me up with aftermarket leather seats. Gave me many rides home from the dealership! Just all around wonderful experience; highly recommend to others. more

Warren Mead was our salesman and was awesome. No pressure or b.s., just an awesome price on an awesome vehicle. Took delivery on our 2011 sienna xle. Warren stayed after close for an hour explaining all the bells and whistles to my wife and I. Their entire staff was not what I had grown accustomed to at other dealers. Warren and the folks at Tansky were kind, courteous, and able to give me one heck of a deal. Give him a call more

Good Sales people, bad finance guy 12/19/2010

I requested price quotes on Corolla, Elantra, Civic, and Sentra from almost all Columbus area dealers over the net, and decided to get a Corolla for low price and reliability. Tansky's was the first to set me a time for visit, and committed to match the quote I got from Germain. Well, there of course was some at the spot haggling still to be done but they eventually did match the price promised, and I was very satisfied with everything. Well, that was before the finance guy kept pushing me to buy this and that for extra for tons of money, and eventually made me swallow the GAP insurance whereas I could have gotten it for so much cheaper from my insurance company. When I picked up the vehicle, everything seemed fine until I checked toyotaownersonline and realized that they did not perform the stuck accelerator recall service. So in 2-weeks time, I was back at the dealership, although the service was no hassle. Just out of curiosity, I checked a few other in-stock vehicle VINs randomly and realized that Tansky's simply do not perform the recall on in-stock vehicles!!! Are they nuts? The bottom line is - 1. I recommend Tansky's for the price. Check price first, and they will negotiate as long as you stick to your gun. 2. Do not buy absolutely *anything* extra from the finance department (the guy who does your paperworks). It's all rip-offs. 3. Before taking delivery of the vehicle, check toyotaownersonline to make sure that your car doesn't have an open recall. Make them perform the recall before pick-up, if needed. more

I made an appointment with several days' notice for a demonstration of the Hylander Hybrid. When I arrived for my visit, they were unable to provide a demonstration, and had no interest in talking with me further (no one offered to reschedule when they would be able to help me; no one tried to collect contact information in order to follow up, etc.) I am a professional female in my 40's and had provided sufficient identifying information in advance that they could have already researched my buying power. They were indifferent at best, and just let me drive away. I drove right to Toyota West with no appointment, met an extremely helpful salesperson right off the lot, and closed the deal for a fully loaded car within a couple of hours. I will not return, and I will share my experience widely. more

Manager with no customer service skills and discrimination 10/4/2010

I tried to buy a car through this dealership and they treated me with no level of professionalism. The first day I went, nobody cared to ask me what I was looking for and showed no interest in sales. Another day I was at dealership because I got the best rate from internet compared to others. The Salesman was really nice and explained all the details about the car and even took us for a test drive. Now when I sat down to talk about numbers, the so called "Manager" walked to me with a number. At this point when I asked if there is any room for negotiations he just BLASTED at me and took off saying that "You are not here to buy a car and wasting my time and I am not interested in selling car to you". This is the WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER SEEN IN ANY DEALERSHIP. Bad serice and sale at Tansky 10/2/2010

I bought a new Camery at Tansky's in Feburary. When I signed the papers they knew two days before I stopped in that they could not sale any cars because of the recall. When I went to pick up the car two days later, I was then informed that I could not have the car because it was being recalled and that I would have to wait until a replacement part for the gas pedal was shipped in. Two days later I was talking to Honda about buying a car from them. They suggested that I cancel the deal with Toyota first then they would sale me a car. I immeditaly went to Tansky to inform them that I no longer wanted the car which they were unable to deliver. I was told immeditaly that they had received a new gas pedal from the manufactor and that my car was ready to take home. I found out later from Toyota that my car was never on the recall list and that no repairs had been performed by Tansky. About four months later I had a rear tire (BridgeStone) totally fail. don't use service department 8/17/2010

Terrible service department. I took my 4 runner in on Friday for transmission gasket repair,$1,500. They had my truck for a week and tried twice to fix leak. They gave it back and still leaks. Kyle the Manager said It must need a new transmission and that would be $3,500. They also lost my wheel lock when they "inspected" the brakes without asking me. They are borderline criminals. more

LYING, UNDERHANDED SERVICE 10/31/2009

I tried to buy a car from this dealership and they treated me and the situation with no level of professionalism. They lied to me on multiple occasions. I was told that I bought a car from this dealership, the money had gone through, and they said they had filled out all my paper work. All that was left for me to do was come sign the papers and pick it up. The dealership told me they had taken it off the lot and marked it as sold. I was driving there from five hours away in order to pick it up, and they decided to tell me that someone was test driving it to buy it after I had already called to tell them I was on the road. They then decided to not call me back for two hours before telling me that they sold it to someone else. They sold the car that I bought to someone else. I was told that it was my car and it was held for me. They had even been in contact with my bank and the loan was approved. I had been working with this dealership for over a week getting it set up. Lying Sales, A Racist Service Person & A Racist GM 10/30/2009

Toyotas are great. Tansky sucks! But just to be fair, they did have the best price for my car. That's why they have "good" for price. I requested a quote through Toyota.com, and they were the last to send me the quote. That's after Toyota asked me if I received the requested quote and I answered that I didn't. Buying a brand new Toyota could have been from anywhere. I asked quotes from everyone and asked everyone to compete. Tansky won. Bought it from them. The first time I walked into Tansky to look at a car but wasn't ready to buy, the salesman treated me like horribly. On the day of the purchase, the sales rep was alright. It was a different rep. The paper work is misleading. I guess they are used to people not reading anything and just signing with the excitement of the car purchase. They basically asked you to give up your right to privacy. They state that they would sell my information unless I request another form, fill it and request them not to sell my info. BE VERY CAREFU more

Salesman unwilling to answer questions. Seemed annoyed we were there. Told us he didn't need to deal - they never deal!!! Lying Salesmen = A Huge Waste of Time and Money 8/4/2009

My husband and I had a terrible experience at Tansky. The car we were interested in was over our budget. When the salesmen asked what price we would pay, we told him our top price. He said, "Fine." We asked, "Really?" and he replied, "Yes, would you like to test drive it?" We then paid to have the car inspected by our mechanic and returned to the lot prepared to purchase the car at the price we discussed with the salesmen. When we returned we were told by another salesmen that the man we spoke with earlier was "not authorized" to quote those kind of prices and "doesn't know what he's talking about." The manager became involved and reported that the initial salesmen, who was now no where to be found, had said "WHAT IF he could get us *our price*". They did not honor the initial price quote, argued semantics, wasted three hours of our time, and the money we spent to have the car inspected. We will never deal with Tanksy again and recommend you do the same. more

I have had taken both of my cars to Chico's and he has done outstanding work and was very fast. His shop is very clean and full of great auto accessories, the guys that work there are hard workers and present themselves very well and pro's. Good Job guys thanks for your great work on my cars. Best Toyota Dealer in Ohio - Don't waste your time w/ the others... 8/9/2008

I've been a Toyota buyer since my first camry in 2000, and have tried my luck with almost every dealer in central and southern Ohio. The Tansky family is the only one I trust with my family & friends. Their salespeople do everything in their power to help, even if you aren't buying! Service visits are painless, sales visits are quick (especially after the 1st purchase), and car selection is top-notch. Can't say enough about them. Go see for yourself! more
