For a Christmas gift, I gave my wife, who has for years felt intimidated by fashion, a two-hour session with Maria. She was easy to talk to, and she suggested composing an e-card announcing the gift. She did, it was lovely, and my wife was delighted. They are meeting in a few days. more

It all started when I needed a ""mother of the groom"" outfit for a ranch wedding in Oct. Determined to ditch my reputation as having no sense of style I thought of Maria and how spectacular she always looks. My cry for HELP landed me not only a new reputation as at least capable of class but an education about what looks good on my body, how to shop, how NOT to buy spectacular ,fancy but impractical items . Now a year later I reach into my well organized closet and can come up with what seems like an infinite array of mix and match coordinates that makes it fun to get dressed. The best part- she did the shopping, picked bargains and quality and brought it to my home after hours. The hardest part was making decisions as almost everything fit perfectly and looked just too good to send back. You will love her. She is not only talented but fun and most importantly will tell you the truth if it makes you look fat. more

I am the owner of B'Dazzled Resale Boutique and upscale ladies resale store in River Oaks. I have been working closely with Maria for many, many years. She is a vital part of my business. My experience with Maria has been wonderful! My husband gave me an initial consultation with Maria as a graduation gift. I had always talked about liking shows like ""What Not to Wear"". Maria was so much better than just watching the show. First, she is very knowledgeable about fashion. Next, she works with you as a person and is very positive! Maria is a miracle worker with style! Our friendship started almost over 4 years ago, I had purchased a wedding dress off the rack to save money (but it was several sizes too big). She had to take the whole thing apart and piece it all back together - no one else could have done it with the precision and care that Maria did. Not only has she over the years done several extremely difficult alterations on bridesmaids dresses and formal gowns, she has also become a dear friend. maria is a gem! we started out with an interview, where she learned about what i needed help with. then she outlined her services and the cost associated with them. this was very helpful to me. then, we made another appointment where she helped me go through a closet full of clothing, helping me to weed out all the ill-fitting, out-dated clothes and helped me with donating some of the outdated clothes to charity and taking others to be resold at the right season. additionally, maria spent time teaching me about what i should be looking for in my clothing as well as training me to keep my clothing well organized in the future. it was time (and money) VERY well spent! i could not have done it without her gentle guidance & expertise. more

Maria is fabulous at her job. She did the alterations on my wedding dress and then on two bridesmaid dresses. She works quickly and is very accommodating, which is great for someone like me who waits until the last minute for everything. One of my bridesmaid dresses was terrible, but with simple alterations, she made it look great for my body type without changing it so much that the bride would be upset. She is also always conscious of cost and what she can do to keep the alterations reasonable. I thought I would have to pay an arm and a leg for my wedding dress alterations, but was surprised. And the dress turned out even more perfect than it already was when Maria worked her magic. I would trust Maria with any piece of clothing I own. more

Four years ago, I landed a position in downtown Houston. My clothing was not up to par and I was never good at clothes shopping: clothes never fit quite right, I had very few accessories, and I was never even close to fashionable! I found Maria online, gathered my courage together, and called; it was the best move I ever made! My closet was fairly bare, so that part was easy. She got to know me and my Mom-on-the-go lifestyle, pre-shopped (so that I showed up at a store and was in/out in a very short time - did I mention I hate shopping?), and color-coordinated outfits - all this on a budget. She has shared her network of friends and associates, making my life much easier - everything from help with buying a vehicle for less to an expert gardener cum landscaper. My sister now comes in from 3 hours away for Maria's help and she is a clothes-horse. I seriously recommend Maria for the difficult-to-fit, seriously discouraged women who just need someone to point them to a wardrobe that reflects their lifestyle! more

I have enlisted Maria's expertise for over 20 years. In the late 80's and early 90's, she custom made many trendy outfits for me. Each one was unique and bold - always ahead of the fashion craze by just enough. In the late 90's, she began organizing my closet for me, and through that, allowed me to gain a perspective of how clothes are more than just... clothes. That they impact your feelings about yourself and therefore impact the persona that you share with others. She also gave me guidance with make up and other coordinating factors that make a 'complete package'. Closet guru-ing continued until about the mid-2000's, when I finally learned her technique - however by then it was time for guidance in another area. I gained about 25 pounds during the course of three months and NOTHING fit. Sooo, I went shopping. The problem wasn't how to organize my new finds, but rather, I didn't know how to shop for my new body type. For example, I wanted the 'babydoll' shirts to cover my belly, not realizing they made everything worse. Maria showed me how to look amazing, despite the added pounds. By learning to look amazing, I began to FEEL GOOD about myself again, and was motivated to lose the weight. Which led to more shopping! Luckily, Maria was in the process of organizing huge, boutique-esque garage sales and I was able to get some money off the old clothes! (Think: Traveling Consignment Boutique... zebra carpet down and everything) Maria keeps it real and has a WONDERFUL soul. She'll be the friend that tells you if it really does look good. She's a woman with many hats, and I have yet to find a problem - clothing or otherwise - that a quick call to her couldn't help solve. She is dependable and punctual and has become a very dear friend. more

Last Spring, I moved from one home to another and I was overwhelmed on where to begin sorting and organizing my possessions for storage, to keep, donate or discard my entire home of too much from the last 29 years. Maria was there with wonderful ideas and suggestions on what I needed and should keep, and how to organize it so I would know what I have. I put my most important items/keepsakes into storage, and with her professional guidance and expierence, I was able to donate or discard two trailers full of items, furniture, clothing, etc., that I had not used in years.
