I don't know if it was the supposed ""back story"" that hooked my heart or the Saigon Soup or both, but Trams is by far my FAVORITE restaurant in Pittsburgh. I would wait out in ...

Tram's Kitchen service are terrible. The place is not to clean. The food is okay. I won't go back and won't rececommeded to friend. Cons: The place is Dirty and Service's b...

tot lam viet! 3/20/2007

After reading some of the reviews I was a little hesitant however, hadn't heard of it before, sooooooo... Pros: good service, smiles, great food, clean place Cons: didn't find any so far more

excellent healthy food 11/10/2006

I love this restaurant. It is a small family owned casual restaurant. The food is fabulous and the value is great. It is less greasy and salty than most asian food. Excellent vegitarian dishes. It is BYOB. Pros: delicious healthy food, local family owned more

Good, not great 5/27/2006

Trams is good, and inexpensive. If you want authenticity, it's not the place to go, but you'll get a decent meal at a decent price. The spring rolls always seem to have hard leathery bits but are otherwise fine. The spicy shrimp (tomato-based) and rice is a good choice, and the soups are satisfying. The noodles tend to be overcooked. Pros: Price Cons: Ambience, Service, food authenticity more

OK food, Very poor services 1/3/2005

I liked their spring rolls but was disappointed by their services. To start, the table was not so clean. They only take cash - no credit card, no debit card, no checks. ONLY cash. At the end of the meal I had to get out of the restaurant to look for ATM. What an embarrassment. When I finally paid the cash, they gave me wrong changes - $2 less. I hope that was a mistake, not a dirty trick. Cons: , Poor service more

Tram's is great! 11/25/2004

Tram's is my comfort food -- you're almost guaranteed to feel better about whatever ails you after some of the awesome fresh spring rolls. Just relax and go with whatever the owner suggests. This isn't haute cuisine, Tram's isn't competing with restaurants in LA, this is just really great food at really great prices in a neighborhood that appreciates both. Pros: flavor more

Not like other Vietnamese resturants 9/2/2003

I've had some Vietnamese food in Dallas, LA and Orlando before and it's not like Tram's, at least the Pho' noodles I had at Tram's was not close to how good Pho' noodles should taste. The other dishes were decent but all I have to say is that it did not taste as good as those other Vietnamese resturants I had in the past. Cons: bad location, no parking more

3 Words - Great Spring Rolls! 8/2/2003

Tram's Kitchen is a great place to eat! I've eaten there dozens of times and I've never had a bad meal! It's selection is somewhat limited, but what it lacks in variety it makes up for in taste and quality. It is a very quiet place where you can always get seated immediately. The fresh spring rolls are the best part of the meal! It is a small, family operated business, so when it is crowded, food can take up 15-20 minutes to arrive at your table. Which isn't that bad when you can use that time for springrolls! Pros: Great Parking, Big Portions Cons: Closed on Mondays more

Better than SanFran can offer! The Best 1/16/2003

I think Tram's is the best restaraunt in PGH. If you are into fresh vegitarian food, Tram's is easily the best restaraunt. My relatives live in SanFran and they cannot get as good. Do not listen to the other reviews, order the veggie pho with tofu and forget your worries. Pros: fresh, healthy, cheap more

Mediocre at best 11/17/2002

As usual with Pittsburgh, Trams is about as good as you can get here. But it wouldn't survive a week in a city with real competition. Pittsburghs lack of any major Asian community and the locals lack of culinary knowledge, help keep these (and many other)pretenders to the throne afloat. more
