A neighborhood sushi institution, Traditions serves up some of the best raw fish in Simi Valley. The friendly and attentive waitstaff make you feel welcome, and they even give you your own set of beautiful chopsticks to be kept unused in a small box with your name on it for your subsequent visit(s). If you're a sushi novice and don't know exactly what you want, try sitting at the counter and scope out the dishes the sushi chefs are making for other tables and ask for one of your own. If sushi isn't your thing, this place has a great deal of other japanese delights (miso soup, tonkatsu, tempura). Don't forget to try the ice cream mochi!
Pros: Inexpensive, ample parking
Cons: Crowded on sundays
