They might have awards to show that they are the best and maybe so, at least for those repeat customers who may know nothing about cars or just don't care about how much they pay. Let's compare: transmission flush around $300+. somewhere else is just less than $200. Brake flush around $200+. somewhere else is just a $100. water valve around $150+, somewhere else is just around $50. If you're a new customer, I would avoid this place, especially if you're not from the area. Pros: Good PR Cons: Very Costly. Can't trust this place. more

I have been taking my cars to Larry's for 25 years. When I first went in I was a bit hesitant because I felt that since I didn't know much about cars they'd "take me". It made me happy to know that the business is woman owned. It may say Larry's on the sign but it is owned by the whole family. They always explained what work needs to be done, what would be a good idea to do, and what is coming in the future. I can then make a decision based on that and my pocketbook. Pros: Professional and friendly staff more

I have been taking my cars to Larry's for 25 years. When I first went in I was a bit hesitant because I felt that since I didn't know much about cars they'd "take me". It made me happy to know that the business is woman owned. It may say Larry's on the sign but it is owned by the whole family. They always explained what work needs to be done, what would be a good idea to do, and what is coming in the future. I can then make a decision based on that and my pocketbook. I've always owned older cars (10-20 yrs old) and I've only had to get me car towed twice. Once was just a precaution since I smelled fuel. They explain in detail what is done and answer questions I may have. I'm not always happy with what my car needs but I am happy that the car is reliable. My current car has over 200K miles on it. Just my 2 cents. Pros: Professional and friendly staff more

I took my 2001 BMW 330ci Convertible to Larry?s because the ?Service Engine Soon? light was on. A day later the mechanic phoned to say that he ?thought? a new coolant pump ?might? fix the problem but he couldn?t be sure. Parts and labor would be $1640.00. I paused and he said, ?Well let me ask ya this. Are ya planing on keeping da car?? It seemed an odd question. The car was pristine, why would I sell it? ?Well if ya planing on keeping da car you should have it fixed because that?s da cheep thing to do.? he said. more

I replied. ?Oh no I don?t what to buy it! I?m looking for a 500 series BMW. The 300 is too small for me.? he said as he handed me the bill for $280 for the diagnostic work. I took the car to the BMW dealership in Mountain View and guess what, the coolant pump was fine. All the car needed was a new temperature sensor and that was less than 200 dollars. If this review keeps just one person from going to Larry?s it will be worth it! more

Warning: Larry's Auto Works I have a 99 mercedes benz SLK-230. I had been taking it for service to the Mercedes dealers in the area till the extended warranty expired this year. So, I decided to search around to find something cheaper than a dealer but reputable and found Larry's Auto Works. They seemed to have a very high rating online, and this is my effort to rate them as they should be. They are 50% to 100% more expensive than even the Mercedes Benz dealers (San Francisco). Please avoid them. I wanted a service B done. They called me to tell that I should replace 2 tires, replace battery, change all the belts and do a brake fluid flush. I agreed to the last two while noting the high charge for them. Then I researched around and found that even the Merc dealors charged much less for exactly the same service. I had no option but to pay when getting my car back, but noted my complaint. Brake fluid flush (parts+labor) Larrys - 42.84+158.20 = $201.04 Multiple Merc Dealers in the same area - $99 Renew drive belts (parts+labor) Larrys - 97+195.60 = $292.60 Multiple Merc Dealers in the same area - $225.60 Cons: expensive, rude more
