Review content:
I took my 2001 BMW 330ci Convertible to Larry?s because the ?Service Engine Soon? light was on. A day later the mechanic phoned to say that he ?thought? a new coolant pump ?might? fix the problem but he couldn?t be sure. Parts and labor would be $1640.00. I paused and he said, ?Well let me ask ya this. Are ya planing on keeping da car?? It seemed an odd question. The car was pristine, why would I sell it? ?Well if ya planing on keeping da car you should have it fixed because that?s da cheep thing to do.? he said.
I told him that I?d be right over to pick it up. ?So ya go?na get rid of da car?? he said when I came for it.
?That?s a fishy question when coming from a mechanic,? I replied.
?Oh no I don?t what to buy it! I?m looking for a 500 series BMW. The 300 is too small for me.? he said as he handed me the bill for $280 for the diagnostic work.
I took the car to the BMW dealership in Mountain View and guess what, the coolant pump was fine. All the car needed was a new temperature sensor and that was less than 200 dollars. If this review keeps just one person from going to Larry?s it will be worth it!
