We hired Townsend Pest control (425-392-2213) last Winter, as we were having issues with mice/rats occasionally getting into the walls of our Bellevue home. They sent out a technician who was by his own admission pretty ill that day. Nevertheless, a couple of entry points were found, and fixed for a total cost in the mid $400 range.
In June, we found one of the traps with a dead rat in it, and since ostensibly the entry points for rodents had been sealed, we called Townsend and asked that they come check to see how we were getting rats into our hous seven months after we paid them to get rid of the problem.
They were more than willing to do so--for a new $125 inspection fee. I found this a little ludicrous, as we added no new pathways to allow rodents in, and we've had no earthquakes. Nevertheless, they were firm on this. They said that if one of their fixes had failed, they would repair it free, but if it were a "new" entry point, we'd pay for that, in addition to the $125 inspection fee.
Now since their definition of "new" includes "something we didn't catch the first time around", which is the only variety of "new" possible in this case, this sounds like a perfect opportunity to drum up some repeat business due to their own negligence. And of course, this bad news was delivered to me by a receptionist. The general manager, who she was quoting, wouldn't talks to either my wife or myself.
I would seriously consider other options--unless you enjoy paying more than once for a very poorly done job. These folks are incompetent, and their conditions for fixing the problem indicate they're aware of it. If they're not willing to warrantee their work for even a year...
