Towne Stove and Spirits is a gastronome?s oasis on Boylston Street, best known for college hangouts and sports pubs. Specialty cocktails and a knowledgeable staff welcome guests at the bar, or diners may choose among the three dining rooms?all distinct. The tall, colorful menus (four to juggle: bar bites, full dinner, cocktails and wine) echo the tall, colorful rooms and are dotted with international flags designating the far-flung and disparate origins of many dishes. Chef Jasper White?s lobster ingenuity shines on a lollipop-shaped bar menu entirely devoted to the crustacean, and chef Lydia Shire?s signature is all over the pizzas, ravioli and an extensive selection of rices.
