Towne Lake Hills Golf Course

I'm new to golf and was so excited to play this past weekend at Towne Lake Hills. The course was decent enough to play even if the upkeep was a bit lacking. However, the staff was absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! The kid in the golf shop was a total punk, but not nearly as bad as the guy who was marshalling the course and treated my group like his course was too good for us when we were playing too slow... even after we let the people behind us play through. I understand that somebody has to keep things flowing, but there's a good way to handle that and a bad way and the people at Towne Lake Hills obviously think they are superior to anybody PAYING to play on their course. Its really a shame, the course is pretty decent and close to my house, but I will not be returning because of the general attitude of the golf club. more

This course used to be worth it - still can be if they ever decide to repair their greens. The ""rolling hills"" fairways and general course layout is challenging and fun. However, the greens have been so poorly maintained that you are left with a disappointing feeling every time you finish a hole. \r \r I used to play this course years ago, and I had always been thoroughly impressed with the course and staff(still a wonderful staff). I just don't know if I'd be willing to return unless they do something about the greens. It's honestly the worst condition of any course I have played all year, and I've been playing at the really cheap courses!\r \r Just played this weekend, and now I wish we had chosen another course. more

I live in midtown and because of traffic it took us over an hour to get to the frog, but it was well worth the trip. The course is immaculate. We weren't paired up with another two-some (which is really rare these days). And our round didn't take 5 hours to play (another rarity in our golf obsessed society). All in all if you are looking to escape the headache of playing with strangers who are terrible, having a put zigzag through potholes, or hitting off of the concrete that is a fairway, go to The Frog. It is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Pros: upkeep, staff, pace of play Cons: not terribly long more

Great layout for low handicapper, but but higher handicaps should bring esxtra balls. Cons: lack of level lays, narrow fairways more

Just not a good layout for a course this expensive. Too many blind tee shots. Even if you know the course, still leaves you guessing where to hit over hills. Pros: Terrible Layout, Goofy Holes more

Towne Lake Hills #1... whoa. Anybody who considers TLH to be the best course in Atlanta is doing the area a huge disservice! This is a well-maintained, but poorly designed course. It is not worthy of a top 20 rating, much less better than The Frog!!! Who got paid off for this rating! Course upkeep and difficulty are not the best measures of a golf course... TLH may be difficult, but it unreasonable. Fairways that have no landing zone and slope into a water hazard - crazy... no good shot goes unpunished! I shot an 83 my last time there and I have an honest 16 index. Presenting this course as #1 to someone unfamiliar with the area would make them swear off golf in Atlanta! more
