Today I went up to Miramar to pick up my baby. I originally dropped off my car at Torq on November 29th and they began their first R&D project with me dubbed the RTC-630. Since the day I dropped the car off, I was able to receive daily updates regarding the progress of my build and they helped me learn quite a bit about my car and also taught me a lot about headwork and cams. Their dedication to getting this project done quickly and done right is something that is not typical of any shop, especially any that is as big and busy as they are. They always pointed me in the right direction and the combined efforts of Mark (tech), Paul, and Erik resulted in what is the most amazing car that I have ever had the pleasure of owning, let alone driving in my life. The final number for the car was 518rwhp, which was exactly 90rwhp over stock on my car... but that is not what impressed me. What makes me still stand here in disbelief (until I drive it again) is the fact that I don't feel comfortable driving the car without TC and Active Handling ON, and I mean that in the very best of ways. The power that was picked up in the midrange is something that I would only expect from a large displacement supercharger or a continuous hit of nitrous, and boy oh boy was I in for a real treat! The street manners of this car, even with such a thorough n/a build, are nearly the same as stock. I just learned how to drive stick about two months ago, and having a cammed car and being able to drive it with nearly identical motions as stock is truly a thing of beauty. I have had two different cars tuned by three different tuners, and Paul Meister is by far the most dedicated and thorough tuner I have met yet. His passion for absolute perfection is something anyone can appreciate... just to think that someone wants your car to drive and perform incredibly just as much as you do is calming and reassuring, and those are two things many of us can't do in today's age. Torq has my full and complete backing and I stand 100% behind them for this package as the best N/A street package in the market, bar none!
