Topps Bakery

I cannot recommend this business. I find it hard to turn the other cheek on things that have happened with this business as well. Many stories are one-sided in life, but does customer or employee abuse really need two sides? As the owner himself stated, with it being so daunting to run a business that is open 365 days a year, possibly he should reconsider his vocational choices rather than disrespect employees and customers, including me, while using that as an excuse. I have sampled the food, heard him mistreat employees that I know personally, and have yet to find a saving grace about this establishment. With the economy the way it is, there is absolutely no excuse to yell at employees who obviously need a job to the point that they allow this to happen. Having had a business matter to deal with the owner about, I was shocked at the disrespect I received. I waited politely to see him a long time about important paperwork. He told me to wait one minute and it was an hour. I called him to set a more convenient appointment time and he yelled at me and hung up on me. This treatment from someone who is knowledgeable about running a business is inexcusable. more

Words cannot express how disheartening and seemingly defenseless it feels, for a small business owner, to combat folks who air one-sides to stories / events posted on the internet. It brings to mind one a few years ago, on a 97 degree day in the summer, when an elaborate cake we made, collapsed on the walk from the vehicle to the door. Despite our scramble miles back and forth to the venue to replace the product and get it there before the event, under impossible weather conditions and coupled with endless apologies, the customer still wrote a very negative post on a web forum similar to this one. It was heartbreaking, as are some of one the ones on this site. more

Don't give this awful bakery your business. The owners, Heath and Jackie, yell and curse at their employees constantly in front of customers, they lie and tell you everything is freshly baked everyday when cookies sit in the display cases overnight covered in sheets, and they label and make fun of their customers, especially the ""Bronxville old ladies"". I would know, I worked there for 3 months. They continually blamed us for not up-selling, not considering that maybe their behavior is driving customers away. They think that we steal from them, which, if you ask either one of them, is the reason why they got rid of their tip jar. more

This is an update to the previous review: I received a call from the owner of this bakery informing me he wanted the bad review removed, that I should remember he has my credit card number and, if I did not remove it, he would have someone use my credit card to do this for me. I have until tomorrow to do so, or he will take ""next steps"". You cannot please everyone. Actors will tell you that. Threatening to use my credit card to remove a bad review is illegal. Should I be concerned about my physical well being? Considering his response to this, I'm not sure. Therefore, I have contacted the police in both cities in case he decides to do something else that is not legal. more

Topps Bakery has been a family favorite in our family for as long as I can remember. I no longer live in Bronxville, rather in Northern Westchester, but everytime we are Bronxville, my kids and I have to make a stop at Topps Bakery. I can't leave without a bow tie or jelly donut (just like when I was a kid) and my own children always get a big sugar cookie bear or petits fours. The cakes are also delicious, we just had a delicious one for my aunts 80th birthday. Don't know if you have ever seen the giant chocolate Santa Claus or Easter Bunny, they are spectacular, and would dazzle every holiday table. I highly recommend making a stop at Topps, you'll LOVE it! more

So the Christmas Season is over and the compliments and ewing and awing are still coming in... There is nothing like telling Our 2 Bosses that a satisfied customer came in excited to thank us for a holiday spectacular at their house. :)...... And that they are back to purchase more goodies and cakes and breads.... For me its simply marvelous to take an order or serve someone wanting that very special cake with a theme that matches their invitation and then frowning as they are pondering over a favor.... and me explaining that we have an assortment of delicious cookies that can be bagged and bowed to match or some scrumshish chocolates that can add to the table to have their guest running in for some of their own... Yes... I am proud to be a team player at Topps and even prouder to serve customers and hear them say how many miles or plane rides they have taken too come to Topps Bakery and take home sweets breads and cakes as their area does not have the quality or items our bakery serves fresh daily... So for all of you that have not stopped in and tried the yummies we display daily...... We are located at 106 Pondfiled Road Bronxville ....... There is something for everyone !!!! more

I recently came across Topps Bakery by word-of-mouth and just had to document my experience. I wanted a uniquely designed cake for my friend's birthday. The ordering process was simple. The good people at Topps worked out all the details with me and showed up to deliver it at the time we agreed on. When I saw the cake, the high level of detail was immediately apparent. The cake was a masterpiece to the eyes and the taste buds! Everyone at the party was impressed. The only thing sweeter than the icing was that it didn't even come close to breaking the bank! I will most certainly be back! An A1 job in my book. more

I think that Topps Bakery should go out of buisness! The girls who work there seem like swethearts, very nice girls, but as for the owners! That is another story. They are money hungry and foneys. They dont care about the well beings of others, only of themselves. They will not contribute to anything unless they make anything out of it. There cold hearted self centered people these owners. There employees dont even wear gloves! Go look for yourself the owner will have no patience for you at all. He is a mean perverted and unreasonable man. And as for his wife she does not care one bit about anyone elses feelings. They are very judgemental people who will not give you the time of day if you dont do everything the way they THINK it should be done.!! seems to me like theyd sell there soul for just a PENNY!
