Warning - Buyer Beware!\r
TopLine posts numerous ads daily on CraigsList for refrigerators like new only 2 or 3 years old!\r
\r
These ads are false and misleading. I purchased a refrigerator about May 2013- ad stated only 3 years old and spoke with Topline and they insisted I need not drive 2 hrs to look at the refrigerator as it was only 3 years old, hardly used at all and like new. \r
\r
Well refrigerator was delivered and it had a broken freezer light cover and a broker water/ice dispenser frame cover. They promised to replace the broken parts... Then when I checked the serial number with GE , the manufacturer, I learned that the refrigerator was manufactured in 2005 and sold in 2005. The refrigerator was actually EIGHT years old and not 3!\r
\r
Topline finally agreed to send a replacement for the broken water/ice dispenser and give me a refund check of $200 to compensate me for the 5 years age difference. After numerous calls and the check will be in the mail... neither the check nor the part ever came. \r
\r
While waiting for the check, just weeks after delivery the refrigerator started making intermittent loud constant roaring noises that would last for hours...Topline said that was NORMAL....consulting with refrigerator technician it was determined there was an issue with the condenser. \r
\r
Then after noticing bad rotten, rancid food smells and noticing meet turned brown in one day in the refrigerator I realized that the refrigerator temperature hovered between low 40's to 48 degrees.. Again Topline said safe temperature to keep food is below 50 degrees, nothing wrong. FDA website states food must be kept below 40 degrees to prevent food bourne illness -- we got dysentery including the dog and the cat!\r
\r
Finally after threatening to go to the attorney general, Topline refunded me the money for the refrigerator (but not the $200 delivery charge), and since they removed a working refrigerator from my home, agreed to give me a replacement unit for my original refrigerator - it was no warranty, but supposed to be working perfectly at installation...\r
\r
Before delivering the older unit as a replacement Topline replaced the heater unit in freezer. Within hours of installation, the refrigerator started to smell a horrible, noxious, burning electric smell.... again Topline said this is normal it will go away. In the next day the smell intensified and finally when called Topline, they said I could hire a repairman at my cost.\r
\r
JennAir sent an authorized repairman.... the heater unit that was installed by Topline needs to be replaced and there is evidence of burn marks on the bracket. The unit itself retails only for $40, but the labor is $215. Topline after numerous calls agreed to only send a replacement heater unit, but would not install it. The Jennair authorized repairman did not recommend spending over $200 on this refrigerator manufactured in 1999.\r

Topline advertises and leads you to believe they are selling you like new appliances that were in top working order, barely used and only 2 or 3 years old. When I went to the shop in Cocoa I saw a whole back room of appliances that come in and are not working and are overhauled and then sold... But the Ads on Craigs List give impression that the units are all just like new (not units that had problems and were repaired) and are mostly all only 2 or 3 years old!\r
\r
DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!
