Editorial review from Citysearch 10/3/2013

Warning - Buyer Beware!\r TopLine posts numerous ads daily on CraigsList for refrigerators like new only 2 or 3 years old!\r \r These ads are false and misleading. I purchased a refrigerator about May 2013- ad stated only 3 years old and spoke with Topline and they insisted I need not drive 2 hrs to look at the refrigerator as it was only 3 years old, hardly used at all and like new. \r \r Well refrigerator was delivered and it had a broken freezer light cover and a broker water/ice dispenser frame cover. They promised to replace the broken parts... Then when I checked the serial number with GE , the manufacturer, I learned that the refrigerator was manufactured in 2005 and sold in 2005. The refrigerator was actually EIGHT years old and not 3!\r \r Topline finally agreed to send a replacement for the broken water/ice dispenser and give me a refund check of $200 to compensate me for the 5 years age difference. After numerous calls and the check will be in the mail... neither the check nor the part ever came. \r \r While waiting for the check, just weeks after delivery the refrigerator started making intermittent loud constant roaring noises that would last for hours...Topline said that was NORMAL....consulting with refrigerator technician it was determined there was an issue with the condenser. \r \r Then after noticing bad rotten, rancid food smells and noticing meet turned brown in one day in the refrigerator I realized that the refrigerator temperature hovered between low 40's to 48 degrees.. Again Topline said safe temperature to keep food is below 50 degrees, nothing wrong. FDA website states food must be kept below 40 degrees to prevent food bourne illness -- we got dysentery including the dog and the cat!\r \r Finally after threatening to go to the attorney general, Topline refunded me the money for the refrigerator (but not the $200 delivery charge), and since they removed a working refrigerator from my home, agreed to give me a replacement unit for my original refrigerator - it was no warranty, but supposed to be working perfectly at installation...\r \r Before delivering the older unit as a replacement Topline replaced the heater unit in freezer. Within hours of installation, the refrigerator started to smell a horrible, noxious, burning electric smell.... again Topline said this is normal it will go away. In the next day the smell intensified and finally when called Topline, they said I could hire a repairman at my cost.\r \r JennAir sent an authorized repairman.... the heater unit that was installed by Topline needs to be replaced and there is evidence of burn marks on the bracket. The unit itself retails only for $40, but the labor is $215. Topline after numerous calls agreed to only send a replacement heater unit, but would not install it. The Jennair authorized repairman did not recommend spending over $200 on this refrigerator manufactured in 1999.\r \r \r Topline advertises and leads you to believe they are selling you like new appliances that were in top working order, barely used and only 2 or 3 years old. When I went to the shop in Cocoa I saw a whole back room of appliances that come in and are not working and are overhauled and then sold... But the Ads on Craigs List give impression that the units are all just like new (not units that had problems and were repaired) and are mostly all only 2 or 3 years old!\r \r DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!! more

I recently purchased a washer and dryer from topline. The sales associate we dealt with was awesome! He told us there was a 120 day warranty on the washer and dryer. Shortly after purchasing them we had issues with the washer it was leaking everywhere. We took it in to topline dropped it off they put a new pump in it no problem. About a month after that (still well within our 120 day warranty) it stoppped spinning and just made really loud clunking noises. So i drove back to topline to drop it off. The associate in the service dept. tells me he only warranties used appliances for thirty days. I explain to him that i have a 120 day warranty and last time i brought it in i had no problems. He tells me im wrong and that i must of overloaded my washer and that i can bring it in but i have to pay for repairs. I couldnt find my receipt so i didnt sit and argue. We go home tear our washer apart realize a parts broken drive back to topline to replace it to find out its a 100 dollar part. While talking to the service associate he tells me he only offers 30 day warranties but he knows his appliances will last well over that period of time. Which kinda upset me so i tell him ive had nothing but issues with his appliances and tell him he had already replaced the pump. So he asks for my info and pulls up our receipt. Then says if we want to bring it in and get another one hell give me $75 credit for my washer towards another one. By this point im so over it that i decide to look elsewhere to replace or repair my washer. I get home go through some paper work and find my receipt which clearly states i have a 120 day warranty the same receipt the associate looked at when he told me hed give me $75 for my washer. When i confronted him about the situation and showed him the washer they said theyd fix it within a few days. And let me tell you what an awesome job they did.. as i write this that damn washer i squealing and make all types of racket. Instead of replacing the clutch they sprayed it with sticky stuff for a temporary fix. Im so overly dissapointed with topline I can't put it into words.. All theyve given me is a horrible washer and a giant headache. Would not recommend them to my worst enemy more

I recently purchased a used refrigerator after being referred from some people at work. I was told there was a 30 day warranty and to call if I had any problems though nothing specific mentioned. Less than a week went by and the freezer wouldn't hold the correct temperature. I thought I may have accidentally left the door ajar as it began freezeng again. A week later the same thing happened so I called. The lady I spoke with was very unprofessional and said I had to bring it back in rather than sending a service tech out. I explained that I had food in it and was unable to bring it due to a medical condition. I told her if I brought it back I would want my money back and she replied ""Thats not going to happen!!"" I ended up calling another service tech out and was told the setting should be 3-4 rather than the coldest setting which it has been on all along. Bottom line is the refrigerator never worked correctly and the warrenty is just a scam!! BUYER BEWARE!!! more
