The negative reviews are baffling to me, having eaten at Tom Jones all my life. I don't presently live in the 'burbs, but we still drive out to Tom Jones once a month or so for dinner. The dinner food is great, huge portions, and the baked potato is so big it's a meal in itself, and not only not rubbery, it's delicious. It is great diner food, any time of day or night. To me the ONLY con is the smoking thing - nothing substantial separates the nonsmoking from smoking areas, smoke can be smelled. The only way restaurants can have a REAL nonsmoking area is if they separate the areas into different rooms entirely AND have separate exhaust systems. I've found that recently we've not been bothered as much with the smoke and that's probably a sign of the times, with smokers going outside to do the dirty deed. This place, considering the busyness of it, actually is tops in service and cleanliness. The negative reviews sound like they're not even talking about this restaurant, but someplace else!
