I called the number on the website and asked the man who answered for someone to come out and give me a quote for a vinyl privacy fence. My yard is quite unique and I need to be there to explain where I want the fence. He asked when I wanted someone to come out and because I work until 4:30 everyday I asked if they could come after 5:00. He stated that they usually do there quotes between 3:00pm and 4:00pm. He wanted to know if I could just do a drawing of what I wanted. I commented that the other companies I called about getting quotes did not seem to have a problem coming out at the requested time. He said ""You already have quotes? Then you have drawing diagrams from them. You can just send me what they did."" I was very quite on the phone and almost said never mind, but I played along and said I do have drawings, but I don't have them with me. He said just to send them on Tuesday - it was the Friday before Labor Day. I took his email address and decided once I hung up the phone that if this company did not want to do the work required to give a potential customer a quote that they would most likely not do the quality of work I would expect.\r \r I'll leave it up to you to decide if you want to use this company for your fencing needs. I am in the market for a new fence. I called three or four fence companies in order to get a quote for a new wood fence. Two companies of the companies I called had answering machines fielding their call in the middle of the day on a Tuesday. On the third call I reach Toledo Fence... I thought great finally a person to talk to about my fence. After I gave him a 30 second briefing on my needs I was treated like a leper. I tried several times to arrange an appointment. All I could get from them was a ballpark over the phone. How can they possibly price my project without seeing it. I guess the 200 feet of fence in my yard just was not a big enough project for them. After an exhausting ten minutes of trying to bribe the attendant with the possibility of doing my project i finally gave up. I called another and signed a contract that day. By the way they had better pricing and were quick to set up an appointment. Toledo fence I hope you learn from this and change the way you service your potential customers... I called multiple fence companies for quotes on a small addition to my fence as well as some repair work. I chose Toledo Fence because of how responsive Steve in their office was, and because they price matched one of my other quotes. Pros: Responsive, Great Work, Very quick! Cons: None! more
