I've always liked Tokyo, and have gone once or twice a year over the last 7 years or so. I appreciate it as a straightforward, unpretentious yet comfortable restaurant. My latest visit this month, therefore, was a sad disappointment. The sushi was huge slabs of fish, the gyoza was squishy and unappetizing, and the spicy vegetable noodles were very spicy yet strangely flavorless. I might go back again in a few months just to see if this was an off day.
