Best

that was amazing. needless to say the entertainment was very fun and the girl was laughing and smiling all night and it was a subject to be talked about:)

Worst

Overall, I thought it was overpriced for the quantity/quality of what I got. I purchased the Steak/Shrimp and Scallops which was around 38 bucks. I ended up getting out of there...

Terrible Food 10/29/2011

My husband and I ate at The Tokyo Japanese Steak House due to the good reviews, but we were extremely disappointed. My husband ordered steak& shrimp and I ordered chicken & shrimp. The meat quality was really bad, the shrimp tasted like mushy plastic that had been frozen for a million years. It did not taste like shrimp at all. The sauce served with the meal tasted disgusting. We could not finish the food and ended up paying almost $50. The only good thing was the show; the guy who cooked the food was friendly and good on the grill. We will never go back there again and would not recommend anyone else go there either. more

Chef / Help needed training 2/1/2010

Overall, I thought it was overpriced for the quantity/quality of what I got. I purchased the Steak/Shrimp and Scallops which was around 38 bucks. I ended up getting out of there for aroud 90 for 2 meals and a kid. I almost left when the chef asked the worker for another peice of salmon and the worker brought it to the table on his dirty hand and tried to hide it down low so no one could see. The chef quietly told the man to return from where he came from and "bring it on a plate". The flavors were good and the food was fresh ,but my mind couldn't get past the mishandled food. Some of the standard knife and fork tricks done by the chef where incomplete which made me think he needed more practice. He couldn't even catch the lemon on the fork and most of the time he was carelessly flinging the knives and forks around, all I could imagine was myself be impaled. Overall, I saw a different chef doing the tricks properly at the table next to us with so much style, beauty and control that immediately I knew, I got the "B" team. I don't think I will return eventhough there is a lack of good steak/seafood on the eastside. more

Fun, but not great food... 9/27/2009

Expensive for the food quality and our "chef" wasn't very experienced. The food was OK for a cheap Japanese joint, which this is NOT - we spent well over $100 for 3 adults and 2 kids. Won't be coming back. more

Shrimp Even Beni Would Love 4/11/2006

Tokyo Japanese Steak House is that perfect place for a business lunch that is a little bit different. Cost is reasonable for lunch. Dinner is a bit on the spendy side. The atmosphere is simple. But the table top show, as the chef prepares your order of hibachi shrimp, chicken, steak, or salmon is what you really come to see. The routine and the jokes don't vary much from meal to meal. But the service is solid and the mood is light hearted. I can vouch for the shrimp. But I have a soft spot for the onion volcano and the other antics. more

Entertainment, and Dinner Too... 3/23/2006

As far as Woodinville goes, the dining options are limited, but here is an unusual one. It's a "Benihana" style Japanese steak house, where knives fly around open flames. Now, I've definitely seen better, but hey, this is Woodinville, so you've got to put this in the proper perspective. It's great for Woodinville! Fun to watch and a little something different than the ordinary burger joints. Food is good and the menu is consistent with all other Japanese steak houses. Great fun! more

Great for Local Woodinville Cuisine 3/17/2006

This is definitely a change of pace from your ordinary restaurants in the area. It is definitely entertaining as the chef's cook at your table. Kids love the flames and the knives, which even distracts them into eating vegetables. Very tasty & fun. Tucked away in a small corner of Woodinville, but worth the trip in. I don't know of anything comparable in the area. more

Go to Tokyo for Best Japanese Steakhouse Around 3/17/2006

I love Japanese food and would travel miles just to find a Benihana's. Now I found someplace even better and it is right in my backyard, kinda. Tucked away in the heart of Woodinville is the best, BEST Japanese food I have ever tasted. Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse has a nice variety of food from steak to salmon with a large assortment of veggies and dipping sauces. And they have a sushi bar. Lunch is a bit less expensive than the dinner. And the show that the cooks put on while cooking your meat at your table is extremely entertaining. Only thing I would change is that they would be open on Sunday. more
