I remember when Todai first opened in Puente Hills Mall, the place was bumpin' with local customers. It seemed like a success story- a real restaurant opening in our tiny, insignificant mall. My family went there pretty frequently; there were no other decent nearby Japanese places at the time. There's not too many rolls and the sushi doesn't seem as fresh, but their udon is pretty good. And they have this cute selection of little desserts that I can't get enough of. I Their dinner price is pretty expensive for what it's worth, but their lunch isn't too bad.
