Exceptional Service 5/12/2011

My husband and I just used Titan exteriors to replace our roof. (A tree fell on it AND there was additional wind damage during one of Nashville's recent freak storms. Not our year.) We were raving to Adam about the service we received from him, and his team, and he mentioned (in passing, but we dragged it out of him) the review another citysearcher just posted. I'm not sure what the other poster was thinking, or if maybe he/she was just frustrated from having to make a bunch of calls and the other followup that comes with damage to your home, but our service was exceptional - from our interactions with Adam to project completion. We met with two contractors from two companies, and Adam/Titan struck us as upfront and proud of his company. As it was explained to us, some roofing contractors sometimes make estimates to appease the customer, and then later change to match the insurance companies. Titan goes for a "more direct" approach and uses the insurance estimate from the get-go. (This struck me as honest, since insurance companies aren't in the business of overpaying, last I checked.) Our work was completed on time, and professionally. So, I couldn't let the only review up here be a negative one. Thanks Adam! more

Poor Representative or Poor Company Practices 4/11/2011

Filled out an online question with specific detail about a quote. "Adam" called identifying himself as a project manager. I asked for an estimate to repair my roof damage. Adam went through a friendly yet inquisitive litany of questions including: Do you have insurance? Has the adjuster been out? Did they say the entire roof needed to be replaced? What did insurance co. allow to be done to the roof? I stopped him and asked what the heck that had to do with an estimate on repairing the roof. I told him it make him seem like they were being dishonest by making their estimate match the ins. so. I asked Adam where the companies of integrity were who would come out to give a true estimate regardless to what an insurance adjuster had said. That's what I was asking for. I told him it make him seem shady. He said he came from a company that was not of high integrity and assured me he was above board. I told him it didn't seem like it with the questions he was asking. I explained I'd had one contractor come out today and once I told him insurance was paying, he immediately started adding additional charges. He listened patiently and confirmed he could come out at whatever time I wanted. He mentioned a time on this coming Wednesday and we disconnected. Not 45 minutes later, he called back to tell me he discovered he has meetings this week on the day he was to come to do the estimate (oh really, b/c early your schedule was so clear ALL week). And since I'd stated I wanted the estimate done quickly (Lying), he would not be coming this week but he knew a few guys "with other companies" that he'd be glad to recommend. So I asked him what he'd read in my communication that stated I needed it done quickly. He said, well, I understand you want it done right away. At that point, I realized he just didn 't want to come do the estimate so I told him I didn't need his recommendation, thanked him and cut the line. He phoned back immediately and say, "I'm sorry, I think we were disconnected". I said, "No honey, we were done" and disconnected the line. Now the guy who had so much integrity was not credible enough to come out and give a TRUE estimate but wanted to give an estimate based on what the adjuster had said. If I'd wanted that, I'd have given him all the information from the adjuster and said, "now, can you work within the parameters of the adjuster?" Shoddy character. Please, I'm sure ADAM you did me a favor. more
