Tires Plus Total Car Care

I would click on 'no stars' if I could. I have never written a review for any company before and would normally let things go. But I feel this should be reported. We took our car their for a bubble in the tire. They took the tire off and replaced it, placing the bubble tire in my trunk for the spare. After being charged a couple hundred dollars, as we were leaving we were approached by one of the mechanics outside just before closing. He was smoking and as we stood their with our 3 and 4 year old, he proceeded to blow smoke in our faces as he told us that the tie rods in the car were completely shot and needed to be replaced the next day. He then handed us his card and said, "go back inside and let them know you are coming in tomorrow and give them my name and tell them you want me to take car of everything for you. And I'll get you all fixed up tomorrow. But you need to get it back in here tomorrow, this can't wait.' He was very insistent and unlike anything I have ever experienced. more

On Monday, 8/24/09 went in for a tire rotation and alignment and left with my car worse than when I brought it in. They not only did not rotate the tires, At ALL. But they did the alignment to the wrong specifications. They even gave me a copy of the tolerances sheet showing their mistake. But worst of all is now my brake pedal sinks in because they wanted to sell me an expensive fluid flush and they screwed something up. They also tried to sell me a fuel system clean and an air filter when both were done just 2000 miles ago. Did they even look at the filter!? These guys used to be good but now are so bent on selling uneeded services, that they don't pay attention to what they're doing. Now my car does need brake system work when it didn't when I brought it in. Needless to say, they won't be doing the work. It's a shame because this used to be the place I trusted. Now I would never, ever recommend them to anyone. more

These guys definitely keep themselves honest. The service manager actually brought me behind the counter to show me the price of every tire for my truck. I decided to go talk to them based on the reviews and the brief phone call I had. Normally mechanic type places the customer service sucks. These guys from the moment the phone was answered I received a happy pleasant interaction all the way up until I left the building and received a firm handshake. Even the guys working on the truck were personable and welcoming. I would of spent more money than I did there if I had it! The service was just awesome. I'm not the type to write reviews, but they really made me feel proud of my decision to buy a tire from them. more

Service is friendly, but mistakes and unnecessary add on services sales has me concerned about their competence and ethics. Recommended Services that weren't needed which left me wondering how thoroughly they check the car. They forgot to do some items that were on the ticket and that I paid for. But on the positive side they did get the tires on and they haven't fallen off yet. more

The service advisors are very courteous and helpful, as well as the mechanics. It's evident everyone is skilled and competent from the moment you walk in. Their pricing is fair and competitive (I had my car's oil changed, fluids checked, and tires rotated for $20.32).\r \r It's common for many mechanics and service reps to try to take advantage of women whom they believe know less about cars and are thus more willing to buy unnecessary services, but they never once tried to sell me anything. I went in, plainly stated the services I wanted, paid, and had my car back and running smoothly in less than 30 minutes; I was amazed. \r \r I highly recommend this shop. more

they do good work at the place, but aren't open late. They accept competitor coupons even if they are expired. The parking lot sucks though, it is small and in the back. more

We highly recommend Tires Plus in the University area, They were able to identify a problem with our 97 Tahoe that no one else (not even the dealer) was able to find for over a year. They always do an excellent job. From simple oil changes, to air conditioning issues, to a new set of tires, they've got your car care covered. Tires plus everything else. more
