Truly one of the best colorist I've ever had the pleasure of working on my hair. The atmosphere is casual, the service is exceptional; I've never had a problem scheduling an appointment with Tina and have come out always feeling like a brand-new version of myself with her talented work.\r \r I found Tina through an exhaustive search online -- I needed a colorist who would be honest about what I wanted, without sacrificing my hair, and leaving me satisified. I found that, and even more, and a year later have been coming here ever since.\r \r I started with years of box-color red, and left to my own devices, my hair was lacking any luster and uniform. My first consultation with Tina left me with confidence that a GRADUAL move to blonde was possible with a few visits and the introduction of highlights. After the first visit, I was stoked. The last of the red moved into a complimenting brown and the rest was a combo of blondes and lighter browns. I'm a first time client. Tina did an excellent job on my haircolor. There was plenty of parking and it wasn't noisy.Time was an issue with me,I would usely give myself 4 hours but Tina was done in 1hour.I'm impressed. more

I went here last week only for my hair to be cut uneven and my color to look flat. The woman did an awful job and i do not reccommend anyone go. After my hair was ruined i wanted to have them fix it and they all had an attitude and didnt care bc i had already paid. If you care about your hair you will not be going to these amateurs. more

I've been going to Tina and Co. for more than a year. I had been doing color myself (out of a box--yes, I know, not good) and it was too dark and looked crappy. Tina lightened me up and gave me very subtle highlights. I now get compliments on my hair color ALL the time.\r \r Tina has a tiny place, and does just one client at a time. that means she isn't running around...she just focuses on you, and making you look your best. She figures out what's best for you based on your skin type, coloring, and tastes. She was not only trained by one of the best in the business, Louis Licari, but Tina now a reputation so good that she trains other hair colorists. And her prices are very reasonable.\r \r Someone complains in another review that Tina wouldn't do what this client asked. I have actually seen people come into Tina's salon asking her to do something extreme, like taking them from dark brunette to a bleached blond, and TIna will try to talk the person out of it if she doesn't think it will make that person look good. Or if someone wants to go from dark to light without some intervening steps. To me, that's the sign of a real professional. \r \r I am really delighted to have someone near me in Queens who can do manhattan quality work. I decided to write a review because I recently had an experience at Tina's Salon that I have not experienced at any other Salon. I went in for color treatment and Tina was honest enough to tell me ""you do not need color yet"" and told me to wait another 2 weeks. She could have taken my money but instead she told me to wait. I just read the previous review and if someone doesn't see the one person salon as personalized service they don't know what they are talking about. Tina is very flexible and I have never been turned down for an appointment, in fact I have called up for last minute appointements and have never been turned away. Anyone can find a salon who will take your money and do whatever you ask. TIna's offers professional one on one service you do not get anywhere else. Tina and what company? It's one woman, one couch, one chair, and one sink. She only takes one client at a time which is good for the individual attention but you have to get an appointment not at your convenience but hers. I went in to get highlights on my natural soft black hair. I had highlights done 2 years ago and achieved a nice light brown highlight, but he left to work full time in the city. I went to her thinking I could get the same done since they had grown out. She tried and did not succeed and told me that my natural hair is too dark and better yet charged me for it! My friend who is a natural red head has been dying her hair the past few months a black color and decided she wanted to be a red head again. She asked to have her hair color corrected and Tina refused. She refuses to do what a paying customer wants to have done? We both went to a salon in long island a few miles from our houses and they did everything we wanted. I have nice brown highlights and lowlights and she is a red head again. When we waited in her salon we should have known when we saw the overdone bleached blonde with exposed roots that Tina was not the best. And the way they talked it sounded like a bad episode of The Sopranos or a Marisa Tomei want to be. Pros: Parking Cons: Hmm almost everything more

Tina did an excellent job on my hair color and highlights. My hair looked very nice and healthy after leaving her salon. Tina is very professional and friendly. The consultation she gave me was very good... she listened to what I wanted and made reccomendations on what would look best on me.
