Best

Just go and sit at the bar. Order a whiskey and diet and an order of cheese dip. Enjoy! Pros: Cheese Dip, STRONG drinks, awesome bartenders Cons: Disgusting bathrooms ...

Worst

I've been to the Tin Roof three times now. I know one of the bartenders through his lovely sister. Service is at best mediocre and the food is, well, bar food. Too noisy, t...

Casual but Wild 7/14/2002

My husband and I were in Nashville for the weekend, and we wondered in to The Tin Roof one Saturday afternoon. We had a great time! A great casual atmosphere and good food and drink. The open door made us feel welcome and kept a nice fresh breeze blowing as we sat at the bar enjoying beer and margaritas. more

Beer 7/11/2002

Tin Roof is a popular place to go in Nashville. They serve beer....what else do you need? Pros: Great free parking, Good music, Cool atmosphere Cons: Packed more

Wanna get stepped on? 7/7/2002

I loved the Tin Roof when it first opened, and not many knew about it. The bar tenders were great, the atmosphere was great, and the food was good too. Then every young person in nashville, with no manners decided to show up, and made it horrible. They trash the place, and the staff can't keep up with everyone. The people are rude, the place is uncomfortable, and now the cool people working there don't have time for the people they know. Can't wait till it slows down, and becomes a cool bar again. Pros: Good Food, Good Parking Cons: trashy, uncomfortable, too crowded more

Had a great time! 6/26/2002

I've visited the Tin Roof twice, and both times I found the staff friendly, the food good, and the entertainment great. It's a fun and relaxing place where you don't have to worry about rowdy's ruining the night. Just kick back and have a good time! Pros: good food, friendly, nice clientele Cons: needs redecorating more

Barns Have Tin Roofs Too 6/19/2002

Pack 'em in like animals! Force 'em to hear "The Pina Colada Song" multiple times in the same visit! Feed 'em beer in plastic! This barn party is accented by inadequate restrooms, a house band that's stuck on repeat, lack of POS registers at the bar (forcing the bartenders to wait in line for the computer instead of waiting on you), and a great sounding menu that doesn't deliver on the quality side (perhaps rock'n SYSCO Classic pressed sandwich meats). Somehow, people manage to have great fun here in the barn - it does offer some relief to see pretty white boys and girls wallowing in frat style debauchery. Pros: Key West Spring Break Cons: Slow Service, Inadequate Restrooms, Barn Feel more

Do Metal and Cheese Mix? 6/19/2002

I went to the Tin prior to their obtaining its beer license, and I was mildly amused. The atmosphere is "fresh out of college," or still attending. The live music (i.e. "band") was horrible. Staff was attentive. I would only recommend it, if you want to "pick up," and enjoy all the markings of cheesy, meat-market, (i.e. "pick up") conversation. Not a lot of depth in the cold metal drum (decor!). ENJOY it Nash--it's better than the Flying Saucer. Pros: Cute, Happy, No-Brainer Cons: Cheesy, TIN more

The BEST!!!!! 6/3/2002

A perfect 10! In my humble opinion this is the best thing Nashville has going for it! Great atmosphere....you can feel at ease whether you're dressed to the nines or in T-shirt and jeans. Great, simple food that everyone can enjoy. Great drinks! Wonderful staff! And who can beat free parking! But, by far, the end-all, be-all is the house band.....the Seahawks! Henry and his fellow 'hawks make you want to stay there till close! Word to the wise....if you don't like crowds you better get there early! more

  • In Short
Similar to the Atlanta original, this nightspot hosts live bands six nights a week--everything from classic to contemporary rock to country. The bar's casual, carefree attitude is captured on the brightly colored plastic beer glasses with the slogan, "Stolen from the Tin Roof." Extra-long happy hour and tasty culinary concoctions have made this a popular after-work and weekend spot for 20-somethings and music aficionados, making the few back booths near the stage the ideal location.
