Just go and sit at the bar. Order a whiskey and diet and an order of cheese dip. Enjoy! Pros: Cheese Dip, STRONG drinks, awesome bartenders Cons: Disgusting bathrooms ...

Worst

I've been to the Tin Roof three times now. I know one of the bartenders through his lovely sister. Service is at best mediocre and the food is, well, bar food. Too noisy, t...

Great 2/28/2003

Great atomosphere, fun crowd, cool band.........just really really crowded......but really an awesome hang out Pros: music, fun crowd Cons: crowded more

Remove the Tin from the roof? 1/31/2003

Is that what makes this place so dang loud? Even when it's not that crowded I find myself having to talk really loud. Great bartenders, though. Go early (before 9) unless you want to be swept away by the younger crowd (or unless you are under 25 or so). Pros: Great bartenders Cons: Loud more

cool joint! 1/1/2003

i live in pesacola, and i wish we had a tin roof there! The ambiance was great, the customers were sexy, and staff was very friendly. Met a great girl "tisha" and i really wish i got her #! What a New Years! Pros: good parking, great staff, cool atmosphere Cons: more bathrooms, more bathrooms, more bathrooms more

Hot Band that Rocks! 12/31/2002

Tin Roof would be just another bar if it weren't for the fabulous entertainment provided by Henry and the Seahawks! Henry is the most exciting and dynamic performer that has hit Nashvile since Hank Williams Sr. Enjoy it while you can, Nashville! It's only a matter of time before this band gets signed and moves on. I love their cd and rumor has it they are getting a record deal. Pros: Great Entertainment, Great Food, Strong Drinks Cons: Bathrooms, Crowded on weekends more

Too Loud to Unwind 11/10/2002

I've been to the Tin Roof three times now. I know one of the bartenders through his lovely sister. Service is at best mediocre and the food is, well, bar food. Too noisy, too many kids, not enough service. more

Nashville's Hot Spot 11/6/2002

Everyone hangs out at the Tin Roof. I mean, everyone. This place can be elbow to elbow on the weekends and you will find yourself squeezing through the crowd to get from the bar to the live music. I like this place in small doses. Be prepared for lots of cigarette smoke, loud country music and/or popular covers by the house band. Pros: Great location, good parking Cons: Too Crowded more

Love this Place 10/24/2002

The Tin Roof is a great place to relax, meet friends and just drink a good beer. Of course their Jack and Cokes aren't bad either!! The Seahawks ( the weekend band) is a great band that is always willing to play your favorite song. The staff is always great and the bouncers are always friendly. Pros: Good parking, good drinks more

awesome 10/22/2002

great atmosphere, finally some music on music row. the bands rock, friendly staff, and best of all NONE of nashvilles "wanna be's" Pros: great music, great atmosphere, great staff Cons: none more

land of the lame 10/6/2002

Everyone and their brother that you could really care less about seeing out..... a splash of random Vandy kids and rednecks galore and every other hopeless Nashville native that hasn't figured out that there is life after college (pick up a scene y'all- this is Music City).... there you have it folks, you've got a crowd that likes to go to see the same cheesy cover band play the same set list every weekend! Not to mention the bar is always slammed- better get two of the same when you order. Waiting for something else to open up on music row to steal the life out of this re-run bar. Pros: inexpensive, decent parking Cons: crowded, bad bar service more

Great Atmosphere; Horrible Service 9/24/2002

Poor service for Men -- myself and other guys I have seen have waited up to 45 minutes for a drink! If it wasn't for the great atmosphere, I would never go back because of the service!! more

Tequila Dreams!! 9/23/2002

So much good tequila it's impossible to try just one. That's why you must attempt to drink all 57!! Jason filled a void here in our fair city. He brought us Regis to a bored Music Row after work crowd. Great job! more

No Country? 8/12/2002

Im sorry but why is it noone in nashville " The Home of Country Music" wants to have country music in their clubs. Dancin in the District....and every other festival is centered around a different music genre. Sure there is Fan Faire if you want to pay the high prices. And now this great spot says they want to steer away from country music BAH ! more

try the fries 8/4/2002

We entered the bar at 5 for a drink or twenty around 5 and ended up staying until 10. Cool live music and the foods not bad either. Pros: good crowd, live music, outside seating Cons: plastic drink cups more

It's a TIN! 8/1/2002

great place to meet up with friends and hear a good cover band or a celebrity like toby keith or mark chesnutt who just wanted to stop by and play. drinks are no bargain. if you're drinking beer go with a pitcher of Shiner. All you can eat wings on Monday. Bartenders work their asses off, waitresses are a bit spaced or lost at times. Pros: crowd, set-up, porches Cons: crowded, service more

The Roof is legendary 7/29/2002

This place rocks! What more can you ask for? Incredible atmosphere filled with pretty people. Great tunes without sit on your hands hush up nashville vibe. No rules go nuts let loose and have fun. You never know who might jump on stage and sing(Toby Keith, clay walker, mark chestnut, mark wills, and tons of celebs hangin' out. The staff is so nice and always happy. Food is killer too! If you don't have fun at the Roof you are a miserable person! Pros: too many......! Cons: has to close at 3 am more

master of Love 7/26/2002

dude the place totally rocks, every hot chic in Nashville is there. Drinks are cheap, the bartenders buy shots for the guests and pour reallllly strong drinks. Music is cool and they have cool patios. Pros: free parking, no cover, cheap cover, lots of women Cons: sometime too crowded more

fabulous! 7/26/2002

Laid back, great music, strong drinks, lots of people but still good service. Pros: GREAT parking, great music, great vibe Cons: crowded more

Tin Reef this is Roogis 7/19/2002

Good place to hang for the Music Row crowd! Oh and could I have more salsa! more

You want quiet? Go somewhere else! 7/19/2002

This isn't a place to hang out and chat with friends on a Friday or Saturday, this place is crowded, loud, and most of all FUN! The bands are almost always awesome, and the crowd is large and friendly. This isn't a place for someone looking for a nice quiet night, this is a place for a young crowd looking to cut loose and party. A good, no-frills, non-pretentious bar in a great location.....music is back on Music Row! Pros: Large cround, Good parking, Inexpensive Cons: Large crowd more

Too Much Fun! 7/17/2002

This is the place to be. The crowd is a perfect mix of the quality people that like to have a good time. There's none of the cheesy, thuggish trash that hangs out downtown and no teeny-boppers ruining the party. For those of us just out of college and living in the real world now, it's wonderfully nostalgic. The live band plays everything good and even if they play it more than once, who cares? Everything they play is something everyone can sing along with. It's fun, laid back and the size of the crowd proves it. If you don't like it, then go somewhere else. It's your loss. It's nice to have a good bar away from downtown that doesn't have that Nashville starving artist cliche hanging in the air. Pros: good parking, quality crowd, great music Cons: can get crowded, cover charge after 9, small bathrooms more

Editorial
  • In Short
Similar to the Atlanta original, this nightspot hosts live bands six nights a week--everything from classic to contemporary rock to country. The bar's casual, carefree attitude is captured on the brightly colored plastic beer glasses with the slogan, "Stolen from the Tin Roof." Extra-long happy hour and tasty culinary concoctions have made this a popular after-work and weekend spot for 20-somethings and music aficionados, making the few back booths near the stage the ideal location.
