I've been here a few times. The food has never been good. They skimp on so many things. The front door greeting is so unfriendly. The service is juvenile at best.\r It seems ...

One of my favorites 12/11/2005

Tin Angel is one of the best in Nashville. Crab cakes are amazing, Angel Louie is outstanding and their after dinner drinks are fabulous. Great first date place since its not too pushy romantic, but quiet enough to have good conversation. Highly Recommend! Pros: Food, Price, Ambience Cons: Parking more

What The???? 9/23/2005

I went with my husband and was sorely disappointed! The selection was really fu fu. Come on 11.00 for a Chicken Quesidelia (sp) you have got to be joking?!?!? The only redeeming quality was our server seemed to know about the wine list. I would never pay to go back there and would advise others not to waste their money. Cons: Food selection, Price more

Vegetarian? Really? 7/7/2005

I went here for a first romantic date with a friend. Overall an OK choice, but I was sorely disappointed by the ""vegetarian"" recommendation. There were three pasta dishes without carnage--and that was it! I ended up with one of them, and it was good, but nothing I couldn't make at home (and I'm not that great of a cook). The hostess was friendly, and our server, while efficient, was not overly bothered by us. She was not helpful at all with the wine list--and we ended up with whatever merlot they felt like giving us. It was perfect for our purposes: some place nice enough to be ""dateish"", but not so ""romantic"" or ""trendy"" as to be uncomfortable. I'll probably be back, but this time with my parents or friends and not so hopeful for imaginative veggie cuisine. Pros: decor, parking, relaxed Cons: veg menu more

Excellent Value -- Smokey though 6/6/2005

People have been recomending Tin Angel to me for awhile now and I travel to Nashville quite a bit. Bottom-line the food was very good and at a good value in my opinion. The service was amateurish (sp?) and a bit lazy. The atmosphere was dark and smokey. I had the Trout Almonine and a Sherry Black Bean soup and both were excellent. I ordered the sweet potato (extra sweet with brown sugar and rich with butter) because I wanted to go a bit more healthy, but the butter was heavy and made it creamy and very good. The asparagus that came with it was al-dente' and was hot off the grill. Very tasty. The soup was very good and deep in flavor. I think it was pretty healthy too. Wine list is sparse but not too bad. Pros: Price, Flavorful Food, Fast Service Cons: Sloppy Service, Smokey!, Dark & Drab more

Great date restaurant! 2/23/2005

We went here for Valentine's Day. Were told we'd have a 60-75 minute - but we were seated in 30 minutes! Great ambience and food. Try the Chicken Sophia! Highly recommend. Pros: Food, Service Cons: No reservations more

Excellent Food and Comfy Atmosphere 3/2/2004

Everything about my experience was great, especially the food. I had one of the specials du jour and it was to die for. Atmosphere warm and cozy.Highly recommended! Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Price more

Great For Vegetarians! 2/20/2003

Tin Angel is absolutely wonderful. This menu is fabulous for vegetarians, and it also caters to meat eaters. The atmosphere is great---there's always a crowd gathered around the inviting fireplace. If you are a vegetarian, try the Angel Louie Pasta...you will love the fresh parmesan and sun dried tomatoes. Don't ask for a French Martini with your meal, though----this restaurant does not serve french vanilla vodka. Pros: great value, friendly staff, quick service Cons: reserv. not accepted, parking (try valet) more

almost angelic 2/9/2003

We happened upon Tin Angel when our original plans fell through. We stoppe din and were told there was a 45 min wait so we sat in the bar. Nice service and kind bartender We were seated in a somewhat timely manner. Liked the atmosphere. Our waitress was not kind and didn't even make eye contact. She didn't even say your welcome or anything. Food was good and came quickly. Crabcakes were awesome. We could have eaten a whole platter of them. Pros: kind bartender, valet parking Cons: smoking in the bar, unhappy waitress more

Heaven on Earth 1/27/2003

The Tin Angel is a wonderful place to have a romantic dinner with that special someone without feeling like you are in a sappy Meg Ryan movie. The food is terrific, and the prices are great for the amount of food you receive. The atmospere is lively, but you feel like you can still have a romantic dinner, and not be bothered. I love this restaurant, and will go back again and again!!! more
