the food might be the best around but the service is the world worst, I was their on Sunday according to my waitress the kitchen was back up, there were only three tables with people at them the waitress was to busy standing around talking with other people . By the time I received my chowder the milk had already set on the top it was room temp I had to ask for crackers, bread and after waiting over an hour and a half I still didn't receive my order their were only about two talbes with people The worst service I ever got in a not so busy place, more

I agree with the isue of smoking on the deck. My husband and I experienced the same unpleasant smoke in our face even though we were on the outside deck. Pros: though under new management, menu is still great so is the s Cons: smoking more

Good food, friendly service and reasonable prices. We went there recently on our anniversary and had an overall very good meal.. Started with fried mozzarella - these were not food service sticks! These were huge triangles of melting cheese. YUM! Glad we split the order though. Then the salads which were average but the house dressing is a zinfandel vinaigrette. A little sweet and a little tangy - very nice for summer. Hubbie got shrimp scampi and I got the chicken alfreddo. I swear each dish had to weigh 3lbs - just an enormous quantity. And here's the slight problem. When hot and fresh, the pasta was excellent, but when I reheated my leftovers, the sauce never came back together, very oily and separated. So, I'd rather have a smaller portion at the restaurant and enjoy the whole thing there. lol.\r Overall, we really like it there, and will be back. We just moved to the area, and heard lots of good stuff about this restaurant. We did not make reservations, so of course we had to wait a little while. We waited in the bar, and after 20 minutes we were asked if we wanted to order something. At that time we could see out table was getting ready.\r As we were seated a very friendly waiter told us the specials. As we were very hungry she took our order and was very fast to bring us the soup for me and salad for my wife. The Red Chowder was excellent, but the house salad was a bit boring. Also she brought our wine. My redwine was luke warm which was not very good for the wine. i tried to get some icecubes from my water to cool it down, but only had a few as I did not get new refills of water. \r Our main entrees arrived prawn and rice for my wife. The prawns was ok, but the rice was soaked in something that did not meet the description on the menu.\r My surf and turf was good, but when I got my side dish the veggies tasted and smelled funny. The baked potato was ok though. \r It seemed like the waiter could see that we were not quite pleased as she stayed away from our table untill we asked for our bill. \r I do not know if we were just unlucky, but it was definitely not a place we would like to eat again. Timmy's One Bay is a little known dining experience that should part of your restaurant vocabulary. The food is very good, the service is prompt, friendly and above all patient. The wait staff is knowledgeable and very flexable. They know we can be fussy and fickle and yet they continue to try and accomodate everyone. We've had groups of 15 to 20 there for Mother's Day and other occasions...we always go there for Mother's Day.... and the experience is always memorable. Like the time the little boy pulled the curtain down and started crying. the waiter handled it all in stride and the boy got a free dish of ice cream to show him it wasn't his fault and that it was OK, that put everyone at ease. They want you to feel comfortable and enjoy yourself. Eating is always an adventure because we all try something different every time we go, and I've never been dissappointed. Only once were they out of something, but the Specials go fast sometimes because they're Special. They have a top notch bar with seasoned mixologists who only use the best products. The hot summer weather found us on the deck overlooking the harbour and boats trying the different Island Oasis drinks. It really is a nice time and you seldom wait more than 15 minutes. This tucked away establishment is clean and spacious, the presentation is always enticing with bounteous meals to delight the pallet and the atmosphere is always sociable. Above all the prices are very reasonable so whether you go on a date or take the whole family I think you'll enjoy yourselves.\r But you be the judge, put Timmy's One Bay Ave. on your agenda this summer and add it to your list of accomplishments. We were excited when we were seated outside on the dining deck. The couple next to us requested an ashtray and began smoking while we were eating. I went inside to request a table away from smokers. They informed me the only other table outside would be near more smokers. I informed them that I have asthma and desire to eat outside and would like them to enforce the no smoking state law. We were told it has been their policy to allow smoking at the outside dining area and they were not going to stop it now. The owner overheard our conversation and walked away. They then moved us inside next to the kitchen where we could hear the workers ridiculing us. RI state law requires smokers to be at least 50 feet from the building.
