I had heard good things about Timbuktu from several people so I was excited to try it out this past weekend - what a disappointment! The food was entirely mediocre - salads made of little more than iceberg lettuce and a wedge of tomato, undercooked baked potatoes, and garlic bread with hardly any garlic. And the famous jumbo lump crab cakes? They were huge, yes, but stuffed with filler and without a hint of Old Bay. And all this medicority comes at a price too - most entrees were in the $20 range. The decor (wood paneling reminiscent of a 1970's era basement) just added to my diappointment. It was an entirely unsatisfying dining experience.
